Hazel Craig

Hazel Craig, 98, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away September 5, 2024 at Camden Clark Medical Center.

She was born March 20, 1926 in Gallipolis, OH, a daughter of the late Dewey Clay Holmes and Mable Marie (Stewart) Holmes.

Hazel attended the Wesleyan Church as often as possible. She was a receptionist for the local Health Department, and a homemaker in her later years.

In her spare time, she enjoyed listening to the police scanner, reading to her granddaughter’s and herself, and fishing any chance she had. In her later years she enjoyed Candy Crush and watching T.V.

Hazel is survived by three grandchildren; Jason Craig, Janene Kinnett-Kelly (4 great- granddaughters), and Kalah Kyer-Duncan (4 great-granddaughters), and daughter-in-law, Michele Craig (5 great-grandchildren).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Craig Sr, her two sons; William Craig Jr. and Gordon Craig, grandson, Bradley Jr., and granddaughter, Heather. Siblings; Edith Holmes-Bellamy, Anna Holmes, Dorothy Holmes-Lewis, Stewart Holmes, and James Holmes.

Service will be Saturday September 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday September 13, 2024 at the funeral home from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
