William Warfield
William “Bill” Paul Warfield, 78, of Parkersburg, passed away August 8, 2024.
He was born in Baltimore, MD, September 5, 1945, son of the Late Darwin Warfield and Pauline Virginia (Miles) Warfield.
Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church Parkersburg where he sang in the choir, and was a band director for Ohio County Public Schools. Other accomplishments include: he brought CA House Music to Parkersburg where he worked, Smoot House Band, St. Mary’s Community Band, Doug Hess Big Band, Marshall University Undergraduate, Michigan University Masters, and he was an adjunct professor at West Liberty College.
He enjoyed teaching private music lessons, music teacher, band director, playing bridge/cards, Big Red Band, and acapella choir.
Bill is survived by wife of three years, Carol Lee (Heatwole) Warfield, of Parkersburg, WV; three daughters, Anne Kerr (Allen) of Weirton, WV; Jessica Waldman (Brent) of Tampa, FL; Kristin Galmarini (Bob) of San Geronimo, CA; step-daughter, Liz Hovanek (Mark) of Chandler, AZ; brother, David Warfield of Belpre, OH; sister, Diana Burger of Philadelphia, PA; seven grandsons, three granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to: The American Parkinson’s Disease Association, American Cancer Society, First United Methodist Church Parkersburg, or Amedisys Hospice.
