Robert A. Raines

Robert A. Raines passed away on Aug. 2, 2024. He was born Sept. 26, 1956, in Charleston, WV, as the only son of the late James and Jesteen Raines.

Bob was a proud 1974 graduate of Parkersburg South High School. He retired in 2021 as a long standing member of the WV Laborer’s Union. His last assignment as a consultant was at the Cardinal Plant in Brilliant, Ohio, in 2023. Bob enjoyed NASCAR, traveling and car shows.

Bob is survived by his sister, Elizabeth (Robert) Hughes; his nephews, Joseph (Alisha) Hughes and Philip (Alicia) Hughes; nieces Kathleen(Jason) Woodyard and Leah (Zak) Bataineh. He is also survived by eleven great nieces and nephews and many cherished coworkers.

Per Bob’s wishes, there will be no services. Memorial remembrances may be sent to The Stone Soup Kitchen, c/o St Xavier Church, 532 Market Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101 or a charity of your choice.
