Noel Edward Keesor, 86 of Belpre, Ohio, died on Aug. 14, 2024, surrounded by family and friends at Marietta Memorial Hospital after battling Leukemia since July of 2021. He was born on Jan. 4, 1938, at his home on Beaver Street in Parkersburg, WV and was the son of the late Reverend Ernest W. and Ruby Langdon Keesor. He worked for the Bureau of the Public Debt, U.S. Department of the Treasury from 1957 until 1999 when he retired as the Chief Information Officer (CIO). He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Vienna, WV. He and his late wife Deanna were High School sweethearts having their first date in February of 1955. They both graduated in May of 1957 from Belpre High School and were married on May 4, 1958. They had their only son Matthew in September of 1974.
Noel knew Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and attended church regularly his entire life. He loved landscaping and gardening, and was once chosen as yard of the month by the Belpre Women’s Club. He also loved riding motorcycles, owning well over 20 of them over his lifetime. He loved golfing and made a hole-in-one at Woodridge Golf Club in November of 1999. He also enjoyed woodworking and going out to eat with friends and family. He was loved by so many people and many of his employees have said that he was a man of integrity and they enjoyed working for him.
Survivors include his son, Matthew Keesor of Belpre, Ohio, sister Helen Moreland of Belpre, Ohio and Brother Lawrence Keesor of Knoxville, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Deanna, three brothers, Lyle, Bud and Richard, and his sister Doris.
Services will be on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 1 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, Ohio with Pastor Brian Leversee officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Thursday from noon to 1 p.m.
