Judy Ann Koon

Judy Ann Koon, 77, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away Aug. 24, 2024. She was born in Palestine, WV, the daughter of the Late Fred and Virginia (Hickman) Woodyard. She was a 1965 Graduate of Wirt County High School. She worked at Washington National in Columbus, Ohio, before marrying her husband the Late Earl “Jerry” Koon. After her husband passed away, she worked at Wirt Inflatables of Elizabeth, for a while and then at Teknetics of Mineral Wells, before retiring. Judy enjoyed shopping, yard sales, collecting clocks, shoes, hats and working in her garden, but most of all she loved her grandchildren. She is survived by her Daughter Gerri Koon-Field (Mike) and son Jason Koon (Malissa). Grandchildren Peyton McDermott (Mark), Parker Field, Jacob Koon and Brandon Allen. Siblings Waveline Kerns, Paul Woodyard, James Woodyard (Deb) and Jodie Wheeler (Mike). Many Nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. In addition to both her parents and her Husband Jerry Koon, she was preceded in death by an infant son, siblings Mae Welch, Leigh Wagoner, Roy “Dick” Woodyard and Barbara Phillips. A Celebration of Life will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth, WV. In lieu of flowers the family asks that Memorial donations be made to Antioch Cemetery P. O. Box 116, Elizabeth, WV 26143.
