Helen A. Smith

Helen A. Smith, 80, of Mineral Wells, WV, died Thursday, August 22, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Omer and Ada (Wilson) Morris.

She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker and a very active member of Big Tygart Baptist Church; where she was a clerk and Sunday School teacher.

She is survived by her four children Brian Smith of Mineral Wells, Lisa Balderson (Bob) of Washington, WV, Matthew Smith (Kokab) of Morgantown, WV, and Wendi Meyer (Jay) of Mineral Wells; seven grandchildren Aaron, Erica, Michael, Jacob, Andrew, Ben, and Natalie; six great grandchildren; and her cat Trouble.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Smith and three brothers Paul, Bobby, and Jim Morris.

Services will be Saturday 12 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastors Matthew Robinson and Kent Lowther officiating. Burial will be at Big Tygart Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
