Hazel Mae McFarland

Hazel Mae McFarland, 85, of Sevierville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2024, at her daughter Robin’s home. Born on June 29, 1939, in Pleasants County, WV, Hazel was a beloved mother and cherished friend. Her warmth, kindness, and exceptional sense of humor were hallmarks of her life. Hazel worked at the Bureau of Public Debt in Parkersburg, WV, until her retirement in 2008, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and hard work. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith A. McFarland; parents, Harley and Zula Mahoney; sister, Neva Stoval; sisters-in-law, Margaret Mahoney, Darlene Couch; brother-in-law, Sonny McFarland; and nephew, John Meeks. Hazel is survived by her children, Crystal Linko (Chuck) of Liverpool, NY, Robin Hewitt (Tommy) of Sevierville, TN, Keith C. “Bud” McFarland (Sharla) of Belleville, W.VA, Kevin “Buzz” McFarland (Kathy) Parkersburg, W.VA, and Kelly McFarland (Tara) of Parkersburg, W.VA; grandchildren, Jeremy Conrad (Sarah), Jim McFarland (Angie), Bridgett DeMaria (Mike), Erica Whitby (Jason), Jake Linko (Amanda), Natasha McFarland (Patrick), Kelsie Weddle (Trevor); great-grandchildren, Addie and Owen McFarland, Jeanette DeMaria, Caleb McFarland, and Adam Weddle; brother, John “Jack” Mahoney; sister-in-law, April Oppenheimer (Pete); brother-in-law, Cliff Couch; several nieces and nephews.
