Claudia "Jane" Bussey, 82 of Parkersburg, WV passed away at home Aug. 2, 2024. Jane was born on March 1, 1942, in Parkersburg, WV. She was the daughter of the late Glen W Morrison and Mary E (Rogers) Morrison.
Jane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Nothing brought Jane more happiness than taking care of her family. Cooking Sunday meals and her infamous chocolate chip cookies were her specialties.
Jane was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and went on to graduate in 1963 from the Camden Clark school of nursing. Jane worked several positions in nursing, but working in surgery was her favorite. After taking time off to raise her family, Jane returned to nursing as a Home Health & Hospice nurse. Jane retired from CCMC Housecalls Home Health & Hospice.
Jane was a lifelong member of the Lynn St. Church of Christ.
Jane is survived by her husband of 60 years, Howard J Bussey Jr., two sons, David Bussey (Angie) of Parkersburg WV, and Brent Bussey of Parkersburg, and one daughter, Julie Morris of Ephrata, PA. Seven grandchildren; Mary Adamson (Brian) of Ephrata, PA, Jason Morris of Durango, CO, Rachael Slick (Mike) of Wexford, PA, Stevie Estime (Zac) of Ephrata, PA, Michael Morris of San Diego, CA, Ethan Bussey (Brittany) of Mountain Home, ID, and Jacob Bussey (Charlotte) of Morgantown, WV. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, one sister-in-law Marcia Morrison, one nephew Jared Morrison (Heather), and one niece Bethany Christian (Duel) all of FL.
In addition to her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her brother John Morrison, her grandson, Chance W Bussey, and one infant daughter.
There will be a memorial service Saturday, Aug. 10, with visitation starting at 1 p.m. and service beginning at 2 p.m. at the Lynn Street Church of Christ with Ron Laughery and Jason Blackwell officiating.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for their care during this difficult time.
A private cremation will take place at Mid-Ohio Valley Cremation Society.
