Lealla “Jean” Snyder Huber

Lealla “Jean” Snyder Huber, 91, of Davisville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 5, 2024, at Camden Clark Memorial Center.

She was born on March 5, 1933, in Krebs, Fayette County, WV to Gerald Clayton Snyder and Charlotte Azalea Williams Snyder. She was a graduate of East Bank High School and Mountain State Business College.

She married her husband of 66 years, James Lloyd Huber, a career Navy man, on April 10, 1954. She moved with him and their children to multiple locations during the next 14 years until he retired from the Navy in 1968. They then settled down and built their home on Stillwell Road in Davisville, WV, where she lived until she moved to Cedar Grove Assisted Living in Parkersburg.

She loved people and being a part of their lives. Her chosen life’s career in direct sales afforded her rich opportunities to meet many and forge many long-lasting friendships. She was a consultant/manager in direct sales companies Luzier Cosmetics, Sovereign House Crystal, and Princess House Crystal. She attained the level of Regional Vice President during her decades long tenure with PartyLite Gifts, where she derived her greatest pleasure and accomplishments.

She was a member of the Parkersburg Woman’s Club. As a decades long member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, she was a beloved Sunday school teacher of the high school students class. She went on to teach the children of many former students.

She loved family and hosting family events of every kind which included many extended family reunions and get togethers.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, her brother Robert Snyder, and her sister, Shirley Baughan. She is survived by her children; Clayton Huber (Verna) of Parkersburg, Sheryl Buckley (Greg) of Davisville and Charleene Holmes (Rod) of Chesterfield, VA, She is also survived by her grandchildren; Konni Jacobs (Jamie) of Hopewell, VA, JC Huber (Aili) of Dayton, VA, Katie Smith (Jeremiah) of Russell, KY, Kassi Adkins (Justin) of Parkersburg, Brittney Connelly (Chris) of Midlothian, VA and Catlin Buckley (Ashlea) Midlothian, VA and eleven great grandchildren. Her greatest joy was telling people about and sharing pictures of her children and their families.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Brooks Layman officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m.
