Dolores (Dede) Confer, 93, of Appletree Assisted Living, Vincent, Ohio, peacefully passed away Monday, July 15, 2024.
She was born August 31, 1930, to Ralph and Ora Lena (Bott) Hamilton of Woodsfield, Ohio. DeDe was an RN and graduated from the White Cross school of Nursing. She worked at White Cross hospital (Riverside) Columbus, Ohio; Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware, Ohio and after years of being a stay-at-home mom, she did Insurance physicals for an insurance company. She was married 57 years to Louis David Confer. After retirement she and Lou sold their home in Delaware, Ohio, bought a 5th wheel and truck and traveled the country doing volunteer work for the Sojourners (affiliated with the Churches of Christ). She was a member of the Belpre Church of Christ. Dolores led a rich and fulfilling life.
Surviving are son, Mark (Cathy) Confer of Fort Wayne, IN and daughter Marcy (Ray) Ellis of Belpre Ohio; grandchildren, Joseph (Debora) Confer of Fort Wayne, IN, Samuel (Angie) Confer of Huntington, IN, Bryan (Chastity) Ring of East Lansing, MI and Kevin (Cortney) Ring of Fleming, Ohio; great grandchildren, Isabella, Grace, Jared and Amelia Confer, Alleeha, James, and Carson Ring. Also beloved children Angela Kidder and family, Rayelle Webster and family, Megan Ellis Miller and family, David Ellenwood and family, Bob Ellenwood and family, Leah Parker and family and Libby Cline and family; several nieces and nephews.
Proceeding her death, in addition to her husband and parents, are daughter-in-law, Candy Confer, son-in-law, Michael Cline, son-in-law, Timothy Ellis; grandson, Kyle Ellis; brother, Harley Hamilton and his wife Martha; sister Erma Jean Ackerman and her husband Bill; sister-in-law, Doris Smith and her husband Ernest (Bud).
Dede will be greatly missed but she is rejoicing in Heaven and waiting on each one of us.
