C. Richard Boice

C. Richard Boice, 95, of Elizabeth, passed away June 26, 2024, at Camden Clark Medical Center. Richard was born June 22, 1929, a son of the late Howard and Bertha Barnes Boice.

Surviving Richard is his wife of 73 years, Nina Ramsey Boice and five children: Darrell, Robert (Dianne), and Dale Boice, Lora Cooper (Mike) of Elizabeth and Linda Boice of Parkersburg, and daughter-in-law Debbie Boice of Elizabeth; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

As well as his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a son, Bernard Boice and two brothers Eugene and Howard Boice, Jr.

Richard was a member of the Elizabeth church of Christ. He started working at an early age in the family general store at Windy Ridge. A graduate of Wirt County High School, he retired from DuPont after 27 years. He also farmed all his adult life. He served as Wirt County Commissioner and was a member of the Wirt County Board of Education and the Wirt County Fair Board.

Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.

Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery South, Parkersburg.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
