Norman L. "Dob" Mayfield left this world to be with his Lord on April 23, 2024. He was born, August 28, 1930, in New Martinsville, WV, a son of the late Harley and Edna Bailey Mayfield. He was a graduate of St. Marys High School, with the Class of 1948. He was employed at American Cyanamid for 40 years, where he was well respected by his co-workers, and took good care of his wife and family. Dob was a member of the "whomsoever" club (John 3:16). Whenever he testified at church you knew how much he appreciated Jesus Christ. Dob enjoyed camping, woodworking, and especially fishing and family gatherings like his annual Apple Butter Saturday.
Dob is survived by his sons, Ron and wife, Dodie, Mark and wife, Margie, Jeff and wife, Barbara, Tim, daughter-in-law, Linda Mayfield, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, son, Richard, daughter-in-law, Anita Mayfield, brother, Bill Mayfield, and sisters, Millie Sturm and Jean Reese.
Visitation will be at the Ingram Funeral Home in St. Marys, WV, Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 5 to 8 P. M. and from noon to 1 P. M. on Friday, April 26, 2024. Funeral services will be Friday, April 26, 2024 at 1 P. M., with his sons, Jeff and Mark officiating. Interment will follow in the West Union Masonic Cemetery in West Union, WV.
