Richard Burhl Garrison, 90, of Waverly, WV, passed away peacefully at his home on Jan. 5, 2024, surrounded by his family.He was born on May 8, 1933, in Parkersburg, WV, to the late Harry and Memmie Garrison. Richard was a member of the Stout United Methodist Church, he worked at Dupont for 36 years and retired in 1992. He also served his country in the United States Army and was a Korean War Veteran. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Jeff Garrison of Walker, WV, stepsons, Dale Cornell of Waverly ,WV, Andy Cornell of Belpre, Ohio, and stepdaughter, Deborah Schneeberger of Belpre, Ohio, grandchildren, Jodi, Jarred, Zarek, Emma, and step grandchildren plus 10 great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his wife Roanna, his wife Dorothy; daughter, Teresa Garrison Maxson and three brothers; and 2 sisters. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, with funeral services being held on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
