Gloria Abicht Cox, 76, St. Marys, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. Born in Pleasants County, Eureka, WV, on Sept. 30, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Pearle Delong Abicht. She was 1964 graduate of St. Marys High School and a 1968 graduate of Marshall University. Gloria worked at the former Colin Anderson Center until its closing and retired from SW Resources. She was very passionate about helping others and was very dedicated to her work and her family.
She is survived by one son, Zachary (Lisa) Cox; four grandchildren, Selena (Brendan) Miller, Trey (Julia) Vaughan, Jade Cox, and Eli Cox; one great-granddaughter, Willow Vaughan; one sister, Lou (Keith) Darling; one brother, J.B. (Kaki) Abicht; two nieces, Nicole Darling, and Ashley Darling; and one nephew, Kevin Darling. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband of 55 years, John R. Cox.
There will be no services or visitation. Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Pleasants County Humane Society. An online guest register is available at www.ingramfh.com.
