Cindy Fouse passed away on May 4, 2023, in The Woodlands, Texas. She was born on Sept. 28, 1943, in Buckhannon, WV, to the late Dewey and Margaret (Baxa) Alexander. She was married to her husband Jack for 47 years until his passing in August of 2013.
Cindy is survived by her daughter Michelle Fouse, daughter Christina (Mike) Freeman, her only grandchild, Kathryn, whom she treasured, sisters Margie Ford and Betty Garrison, brother Ralph Alexander, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dewey and Margaret Alexander, husband Jack, sister Frances Alexander, brother Junior Alexander, sister Helen Mather as well as her beloved dogs April, Brandy, Maggie, and Oliver.
The light of Cindy's life--and rightfully so--was her precious daughter Michelle who has Down syndrome. Cindy and Michelle were attached at the hip and you would rarely see one without the other. Cindy dedicated her entire life to Michelle.
Cindy worked at the C&P telephone company for over thirty years as an operator. After retirement she spent decades as a dedicated volunteer at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital running the candy cart with her daughter Michelle. Cindy and Michelle spent countless hours at the hospital stocking the supply room and pushing the candy cart throughout the halls of Camden Clark.
Cindy loved to travel. She, Jack, and Michelle had visited all 50 states as well as several countries.
Cindy was an avid Mountaineer football fan and had the pleasure of hosting several football players at her home for a cookout in the mid-1980s. She was known for her delicious homemade pepperoni rolls that she took to the parking lot of Mountaineer stadium where family and friends would tailgate out of the back of their blue and gold Chevy van.
Cindy's favorite holiday was Christmas and she went all out when it came to decorating her home. She had a Christmas tree in every room. The "Fouse House" was a true Christmas wonderland both inside and out.
Cindy loved to bake and would often bake cakes, pies, and cookies for neighbors and friends. She loved hosting parties whether it was the annual family Christmas party or a Valentine's Day party for hospital employees, complete with a chocolate fountain and takeaway bags filled with goodies.
Cindy was a member of First Lutheran Church for over 50 years. She loved attending church on Sunday mornings and she loved her church family dearly.
In order to honor Cindy's final wishes there will be no funeral or service. Instead, there will be a sendoff celebration for her daughter Michelle as she embarks on her new life in Texas with her sister, Christina. Please visit the website www.sendoffmichelle.com.
