Donna June Dotson, age 93, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2023, in Seminole, FL. She was born March 29, 1930, in Clarksburg, WV, to the late Jesse Wayne Hill and Vesta Mabel Gain. She married James Joseph Dotson, May 8, 1948, who proceeded her in death May 1, 2002, following 54 years of marriage.
Donna had a wonderful sense of humor and would often say, "I have a little funny for ya," smiling so big her eyes were lost in her cheekbones as she told the story. Donna saw the wonder, humor and goodness of the world and always lit up the room. She enjoyed having fun with family and friends, exemplified good living, healthy eating, exercise, and plenty of laughter. All who knew Donna loved her and were happier just being around her.
Donna was a trend-setter in high school where she wore blouses she made from feed sacks; all her friends wanted her to make one for them. Donna was a natural beauty, a snappy dresser and looked marvelous every day, whether working in the yard or attending a formal dinner. In her final days, she sported a stylish hairdo with a barrette on the side.
Donna retired as an executive secretary from the Bureau of the Public Debt, Parkersburg. She was fondly known as the expert in the office, the ultimate perfectionist with her work ensuring quality products. She was well respected and generous with good advice, offering professional and personal advice as needed.
Donna is survived by her companion, Walter Staats, special-friend, Judy Williamson, special-grandchildren, Leah Kelley and Ben Williamson, nieces, Jamie Plummer, Lea Anne Bayless, Judy Dunfee, Barbie Adams, nephew, Jerry Hill, and many life-long friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by her daughter, Jima Ann Dotson, one brother Jesse Hill, niece Karen Hutson and special-friend, David Williamson.
