Dianna Sue Moore Kerns, of Murphytown, WV, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on May 10, 2023.
She was born July 18, 1942, a daughter of the late David Stanley Moore and Anne (Sheppard) Moore of Vienna, WV.
She retired from Wood County Schools as a school secretary at Waverly Elementary School where she treated her students as if they were her own. She was a member of the North End Church of Christ and a member of the Mid Ohio Valley Stepping Stones. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 62 years, James "Jim" Kerns of Murphytown, WV; three daughters, Angela Kerns Charonis of Pittsburgh, PA; Julie Kerns (Tim) Van Dale of Washington, WV, Lori Jane Kerns (Dennis) Elliott of Parkersburg, WV; four grandchildren, Troy Gilbert of Pittsburgh PA, Felicia (Nick) Long of Fort Mill SC, Nicholas (Kelsey) Linville of Geilenkirchen, Germany, Abby (Lance) Gilbert of Pittsburgh, PA; and three great grandchildren, Claire Marie and Amelia Grace Long of Fort Mill, SC and Olive Fay Linville of Geilenkirchen, Germany.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m at the funeral home. An online guestbook for condolences is available at www.sunsetparkersburg.com.
