Kim (Tomblin) Bailey

Kim (Tomblin) Bailey passed away on April 13, 2023, in Portland, Maine, after a brief illness. Kim was born on August 17, 1962, in Parkersburg, WV and was a 1980 graduate of Parkersburg Catholic High School where she was a talented basketball, volleyball and softball player. She attended WVU-P for medical lab tech education and worked at Saint Joseph’s Hospital early in her career. Kim obtained her bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Armstrong Atlantic University. She continued her work in the medical field and lived in a variety of places throughout the US until she met the love of her life, Cindy Bailey, in 1998, and moved to Maine after living in Maryland two decades. Kim was a Maine Master Naturalist and could be found often in nature, volunteering with education, bird rescue, and Conservancy or cheering on her favorite teams, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. She loved animals, especially her pet dogs, Noah, and Colin. She will be remembered for her generosity and giving nature, often helping others even at her own personal expense.

Kim is survived by her spouse, Cindy Bailey, her mother, Margee Tomblin, her brother, Kevin (Wendy) Tomblin, her sister, Kathy (Dave) Kershaw, and her nieces and nephews, Brian Tomblin, Avery Lew, Aubrey Coronado, Murphy Kershaw, and McKenzie Kershaw.

Kim was preceded in death by her father, Ken Tomblin, her grandparents, Harold and Mildred Offenberger and Taylor and Effie Tomblin, her uncles, James Tomblin and Harold Offenberger, Jr, and her aunts, Janice Curry, and Barb Offenberger.

A funeral mass for Kim will take place at Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Parkersburg, West Virginia, on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 11 AM.
