Sandra Lee Miller, 79, passed away at the Worthington nursing home on October 5, 2022. She was born on October 31, 1942, in Washington DC, the daughter of the late William F. Miller and Mildred E. Miller and her late brothers, Charles and William (Billy) Miller and Amanda, wife of her nephew Matthew.
Sandra graduated from Parkersburg high school, she was very active in a variety of sports. After graduating, she played semi professional softball, achieving the title of West Virginia state pitcher of the year. She worked as a city line bus driver in the Parkersburg area before moving to Green Bay, WI, where she worked as a city line bus driver for 20 years.
Sandra moved back to Vienna, WV and lived with her mother and brother, Charlie, before entering the Worthington nursing home in 2017. She was a devoted football fan, rooting for the Green Bay Packers and the West Virginia Mountaineers. She was a great fan of Elvis Presley.
Sandra is survived by her sister Linda E. Kanitz and her brother-in-law Kenneth, her three nephews, Sam McGraw (Deb), Matthew Kanitz, Jesse Kanitz (Kelly)
And a niece, Chantae Elkins. Five grand nephews Charlie, Caleb, Adrian, Luke and Peter. Two grand nieces, Rachel and Molly. She is also survived by cousins, James Fink, Judy Tibus, Richard Gainer, and Becky Blackburn.
Sandra wished to acknowledge her two oldest and dearest friends Kay Wilson and Mary Koty.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 8, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Leavitt funeral home in Belpre, Ohio followed by interment in Rockland cemetery, immediately thereafter. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.LeavittFuneralHome.com.
