Rev. Bertram F. Grant

Rev. Bertram F. Grant, 95, of Mineral Wells, WV, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, at his residence.

He was born in North Berwick, Maine a son of the late Arthur R. and Ava E. (Philbrick) Grant.

He was a minister for the Church of the Nazarene for 43 years and had served many churches throughout the state. He was described by many as a wise counselor, truthful in all his dealings and he was ready to pitch in with skill on various building projects within his family and the church. He never lost his desire to share his love for Jesus with everyone.

His longing to see Jesus carried him through his last days of illness until he made his final journey Home to be with Him forever. He will be greatly missed by a great many people.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years Roberta "Deane" Grant; four children Bertram F. Grant, Jr. (Dana) of Tucson, AZ, Daniel F. Grant (Doris) of Sistersville, WV, Joann Nichols of Mt. Pleasant, NC, and Darrell R. Grant (Susan) of Sammamish, WA; ten grandchildren; and several great and great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Albert Grant; three sisters Dorothy Powers, Ruth Hinkley, and Veatrice "Molly" Fehlau; and son-in-law Robert Nichols, one grandchild and one great grandchild.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Shane Hostutler officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery North. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6-8 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg and one hour prior to the service at the church.
