Mildred “Middy” Hart

Mildred “Middy” Hart, 95, of Pike, WV, peacefully departed this world on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2022.

Middy was born May 12, 1927, in Glendale, WV, the 4th of 7 children to the late Charlie J. and Hattie (Pyles) Pifer. She greatly enjoyed working alongside her brother at the former Dairyette of Ellenboro, WV. She also worked in the garment industry of Ritchie County for Economy Industries of Harrisville, WV and then became a loving and caring homemaker for her family. She loved quilting, flower gardens, basket weaving, watching and feeding the birds, cooking, and babysitting her grandchildren. She also attended the Pleasant Valley Church in Pleasants County, WV.

She is survived by her children, Roger (Carol) Hart of Ellenboro, WV; Ralph (Judy) Hart of Ellenboro, WV; and Donna Jean (Bud) DeLancey of Ellenboro, WV; her grandchildren, Zachary (Ruby) Hart, Hope Elizabeth Hart, Adena (Tim) Morris, Tanya (Matt) Blouir, Rebecca (Samuel) Lambert, Ryan (Michelle) Lawrence, Cole (Megan) DeLancey; her great grandchildren, Cameron, Madeline, Abraham, Katelyn, Isaiah, Katie, and Emryn, along with her brother, Pearley Pifer of Glendale, WV and sister, Louella Wilson of PA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold L. Hart in 1996 and siblings, Hershel Pifer, Donald Pifer, Glenda Martin, and Bernice Shields.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, at the McCullough Rogers Funeral Home in Pennsboro, WV with Rev. Sandy Runnion officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Finch, WV. Visitation will be from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
