Eldora Wynone Swisher

Eldora Wynone Swisher, 97, of West Union, departed this life on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at Stonerise of Bridgeport surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Aug. 7, 1925, at Morgansville, a daughter of the late Frank and Isa Hoff Swisher.

Surviving are three daughters, Sharon Travis (Mike), West Union, Donna Morgan (Bruce), Meadville, PA, Romona Suzie Swisher (Ruelas) Woodstock, GA, six sons, Gary Swisher (Connie), Moncks Corner, GA, Michael Swisher (Vivian), West Union, Mark Swisher (Bendi) Parkersburg, Robert Swisher, Parkersburg, Jeff Swisher, West Union, John Swisher (Stacy) New Richmond, Ohio, 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, one brother, Dave Swisher(Ruth), Stanton, VA, sister-in-law, Virginia Swisher, MD. She was also preceded in death by grandchildren, Gary Swisher Jr., Angela Swisher, Aaron Swisher, one brother, Coy Swisher and daughter-in-law, Saundra Swisher.

Eldora was a 1945 graduate of Doddridge County High School and was a former employee of the West Union Garment Factory. She enjoyed making Sunday dinner for her family. Eldora also enjoyed working in her flowers, painting, drawing; but most of all spending time with her family and her trips to FL. Eldora was a member of the West Union Christian Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 56 Front St. West Union on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mark Wilmoth presiding. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel after 10 a.m. until time of service.
