Leigh Ann Hughes, 65, of Whitehall, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022. Always one to make an entrance she was born on July 30, 1956, her father's birthday, to Victor and Shirley (Shelton) Scholl in Montgomery, West Virginia. Her family later moved to the Parkersburg area where she would reside until her next adventure called, travelling all over the country until she finally found her home in Columbus, Ohio. Leigh was the kind of person you meet and immediately fall in love with. She was someone you wanted to know. She remembered every birthday or special occasion and had a knack for picking the most perfect, thoughtful gifts. She loved to travel and was always ready to pack up and head to the beach on a moment's notice. She especially loved her granddaughters and took great joy in having them around, celebrating their achievements, and making sure they were well stocked with sweets and other goodies. Leigh was a life-long animal lover, offering a home to strays, castaways, and those in need of a loving warm home. She was preceded in death by her father, Victor Morris Scholl. Leigh is survived by her husband of 32 years, Frank Hughes; daughters, Iris Coker of Brooklyn, NY and Stephanie Huffman of Columbus, Ohio. As well as her two granddaughters, Kelsey Thorpe and Breanna Richardson. Private services will be held for the family. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna.
