It is with great sadness that the family of Douglas Dirk Sears announces his passing on May 19, 2021, in Conroe, TX, after a brief illness, at the age of 54 years. Douglas was born Dec. 21, 1966, to Delmar and Deloras Sears, in Parkersburg, WV. Douglas graduated from Parkersburg South High School in 1985, where he participated in Track and Pole Vault. He then attended The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Douglas joined the Navy in 1991 and, upon his Honorable Discharge, returned to Parkersburg WV to be with family. Doug continued his education at West Virginia University, Parkersburg before moving to Angleton, Texas in 2006 to marry Stacy Downing-Sears. The two then settled in Conroe, Texas in 2013.

Douglas was a Health, Safety & Environmental Specialist in the Oil and Gas Industry and had worked in Quality Control in various manufacturing companies. Douglas and Stacy also owned and operated a successful Gun business, High Caliber Guns, from 2009 to 2013 and were members of Mim’s Baptist Church, where Douglas was an Adult Class Sunday School Teacher.

Douglas will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 15 years, Stacy Downing-Sears and their children, Nicole Groves and James Millie, his mother, Deloras Sears, sister Heather (Gary) Summers, brother Christopher Sears, his sisters in law — Melissa Sears and Janice Watson, his twin grandsons, Brody and Levi (5) and his nephews, Hunter and Ian Sears and nieces, Morgan (George) Lane-Roberts and Madison (Michael) Brown. Douglas was predeceased by his father, Delmar Sears and his Father and Mother-in-law Les and Jane Downing.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. at Mim’s Baptist Church, 1609 Porter Rd. Conroe, TX 77301 with Dr. Jerry Chaddick, officiating.
