William Nelson Moyers III

William Nelson Moyers III, 79 of Washington, WV, passed away September 30, 2020.

He was born in Wood County the son of the late William Nelson and Lillian Maye Wolf Moyers Jr.

He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School class of 1960 and had served in the U.S. Air Force. He had retired from the O'Ames Company and had at one time taught small engine repair at Parkersburg Community College. He was a life member of AMVETS #34, DAV Chapter #6, FOE #2307 and The Moose Club #1118. He had served as a trustee for the Neal-Cook Cemetery and enjoyed crafts, woodworking, camping, hunting, fishing and collecting guns. He was a member of the 14th Avenue Gospel Mission Church.

He is survived by his son, John Nelson Moyers (Joy Brannon and her family) of Coolville, OH. Grandsons, Joe and Josh Hall, eight great grandchildren; His sister, Victoria Wyles of Cornville, AZ. His nephews, Montie and Kenneth Bell of CA. and his special friends, Bo and Barbara Richards and Jerry Sowders.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor G. Louk Moyers and his daughter, Beth Ann Moyers Davis.

Private services were held Friday, October 2, 2020 at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Jerry Sowders officiating. Burial was in the Sunset Memory Gardens.
