Eleanor Jones, 93, of Pennsboro, WV, departed this life on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Pine View and Rehabilitation Center in Harrisville, WV, surrounded by her loving family.
Eleanor was born October 26, 1926 in Petroleum, WV, a daughter of the late John Henry and Carrie (Nutter) Koehnlein. Eleanor worked in the garment industry of Ritchie County for 47 years, working in both the Pennsboro and Harrisville factories. She began her working career, working for Mrs. Myles of Pennsboro, WV in which Eleanor had fond memories of and was her favorite employer.
She greatly enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with both her family and friends. She was an avid traveler especially to her favorite place in the world, Myrtle Beach, SC and she loved camping.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra E. Jones Merritt (Wes) of Pennsboro, WV; step daughter, Sherry Morris of Parkersburg, WV; sister, Carolyn Gibbs of Belpre, OH; grandchildren, Angie Merritt (Meggan) of Harrisville, WV; Stacie Merritt of Pennsboro, WV; Keri Lambert (Frank) of Bridgeport, WV; Nicki Johnson (Matthew) of Pennsboro, WV; great grandchildren, Logan and Jaxson Hostuttler; Isaac Lucas; Lilly McCullough; Zachary and Shelby Lambert; Allison Seese (Will); Lexie Goff (Tucker); Noah Matthew Johnson; great great grandchildren, Leo Seese and Colton Goff; sister in law, Donna Jean Koehnlein of Pennsboro, WV; brother in law, David Murphy of Columbus, OH, many loving nieces and nephews, along with her special poodle, Harley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bennie Jones in 1982; daughter and son in law, Louise and Larry Freeland; brother, John Koehlein; sisters, Betty Murphy and Peggy Mahaney and brother in laws, Roger Gibbs and Lewis Mahaney.
Funeral services will be 11 am, Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, WV with Pastors Joseph and Samuel Lambert officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Ellenboro Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm-8 pm on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
