George Lee Neely

George Lee Neely, age 79, of Greenwood, WV departed this life on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at his residence. He was born on September 29, 1939 in Morgantown, WV the son of the late George Robert and Buelah Leona Reed Neely.

George had worked in the timber industry, oil fields, as a welder and carpenter and owner of Neely Construction Co. He had been the Pastor at the Chestnut Grove Church, Big Flint Rd. West Union. He loved serving God and spending time with his family and friends, he had a heart of gold and a very quick wit and sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi Mae Hiley Neely; daughters, Linda D. Miller (Dave), Wooster,OH and Cindy L. Smith (Robert), Little Flint Rd., West Union, WV; sons, Timothy L. Neely, Lost Creek, WV and Steven G. Neely, Greenwood, WV; brothers, Gilbert Neely, West Union, WV and Crandall L. Neely. Philippi, WV; sister, Bonnie Sue Bragg, St. Marys, WV; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a brother, John J. Neely, sister, Norma Jean Heflin, great-grandchild, Abigail Collins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the McCullough Funeral Home, Pennsboro, WV with the Rev. Gilbert Neely officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Smith Cemetery, Little Flint Rd, West Union, WV.
