Evelyn Joan (Timmy) Storck
Evelyn Joan (Timmy) Storck, passed away January 24, 2017.
She was born November 5, 1923, and was the daughter of Charles Emmett Arnold Sr. and Ethel Blizzard Arnold.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church. She was a founder of the original Art League and a benefactor of the Parkersburg Art Center. She was the founder of the Bread of Life Fund at First Lutheran Church. She was the founder and benefactor of the Elizabeth Embelton School of Dance in Parkersburg, W.Va., and she was supportive of her husband and family in their family business, Storck Baking Company. She was also a member of the Junior League of Parkersburg and the Parkersburg Country Club.
Inspired by a devotion to prayer, Joan traveled frequently to Israel, Wales and Washington, D.C. She was also involved in Appalachian Women’s Ministry.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Storck; brother, Charles Arnold; sister-in-law, Betty Storck; and her sisters, Betty Coughlin and Sue McIntosh, as well as two sisters who died in childhood, Mary Louise, Helen Ruth; and her beloved grandchildren, Robin Ross and Julia Mazzella; and her nephew, David Coughlin.
She is survived by her children, Susan and Sam Ross and Sally and Jim Mazzella. Her grandchildren are Joel Mazzella (Ashley), Ginger Salamida (Dominic); and her step-grandsons, Tres (Melissa) and Spencer Ross. She adored her great-grandchildren, Holly, John, Sam and Matt Mazzella, Dominic, Maria, Sarah Clare, Jonathan, Vincent, Gianna, Christopher and Andrew Salamida, and Braeden, Owen, Christian and Ivy Ross.
She loved her caregivers as family, Missy McCutcheon, Karie and Fred Sargent, Sarah and Mike Schwartz, Kim Hanlin, Michelle and Todd Snyder along with their children. Her nephews include, Charles Arnold, John McIntosh, Jim McIntosh and Jay Coughlin. Nieces include, Jane Morningstar, Andrea Jansky, Anne Pejovich, Marcia McIntosh and her daughter Molly, Sally Muldoon; and a cousin, Anne Moorhead.
Arrangements are being made by the Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis, W.Va. There will be a memorial in the spring in Canaan Valley, Davis, W.Va. Following will be a burial service at Evergreen North Cemetery, where she will be buried next to her husband.
Remembrances may be made to the Bread of Life Fund at First Lutheran Church in Parkersburg, W.Va.; the Storck Family Foundation at Peoples Bank, Marietta, Ohio; the Robert L. Storck Scholarship Fund at Parkersburg Area Community Foundation; Humane Society of Parkersburg or any charity of your choice.
