Elks to celebrate Flag Day, picnic

VIENNA - The annual Parkersburg Elks Lodge 198 membership picnic and flag observance will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Buzzy Dils Park in Vienna. “The flag ceremony is a time-honored tradition that celebrates the American flag and what it represents,” organizer Leslie Riddle said. Farmers Castle Museum to hold open house for Juneteenth

BELPRE – Farmers Castle Museum, operated by the Belpre Historical Society, will have an open house from 1-4 p.m. Saturday in recognition of Juneteenth. The Underground Railroad in Southeastern Ohio, a permanent exhibit that details the rise of the freedom movement along the Ohio River shoreline of Washington County in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, will be featured.
