PARKERSBURG -- The Wood County Sheriff's Office released the following reports on July 31:
July 20
* Zachary Tyler Richards, 30, Elder Street, was issued a citation for no motorcycle endorsement and obey traffic control device (red light).
* A deputy spoke with the complainant who reported a 2019 white and silver Polaris Razor was stolen from Jesterville Road. The side-by-side had been parked next to his driveway at his residence. The side-by-side has been entered into NCIC.
July 21
* Kelsey A. Martin, 31, of Nicely Avenue was issued a citation for failure to obey traffic control device (red light).
* A deputy was dispatched to the 7-Eleven at Harris Highway and Lake Washington Road for an intoxicated male inside a vehicle on the parking lot. While the deputy was responding, another caller had called into 911 stating to the dispatcher that the vehicle had left the parking lot and was traveling on Lake Washington Road toward DuPont Road and continued giving the dispatcher information on the driver and vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated as the vehicle slowed to a stop at the entrance to the DERC firing range. David Allan Coleman, 61, of Brettwood Drive, was arrested on charges of aggravated DUI. He was transported to the Holding Center, taken before a magistrate where he was too intoxicated to be arraigned and returned to the Holding Center for arraignment at a later time. He was eventually arraigned and released on bond.
* A deputy responded to the screening area of the magistrate court for a male being detained as he was found to have possession of a suspected controlled substance on his person while he was being screened through security into the building. Court Officers provided the deputy with a small baggie containing a white crystal-like substance suspected of being methamphetamine. Vincent Gregory Baisi, 29, Ninth Street, Vienna, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance. He was processed, arraigned and released on bond.
* Deputies responded to Meadowview Drive for a warrant service. Carrie Deann Queen, 26, was arrested on the warrants for shoplifting, driving on suspended, no proof of insurance, defective equipment a registration violation and possessing a controlled substance without a prescription. She was processed and confined.
* A deputy responded to the I-77 entrance ramp to Emerson Avenue for a vehicle accident. The driver who had taken the exit ramp to Emerson Avenue lost control causing the vehicle to exit the road off of the left side and strike the embankment with the front of the vehicle. The vehicle sustained front and rear passenger side damage.
July 22
* Jessica Nicole Hayes, 38, of 32nd Street, was issued a citation for possession of marijuana and a verbal warning on failure to signal and following too closely.
* Deputies responded to Palmer Drive for a female being disorderly and acting erratic. Jessica Briann Highley, 28, of Abbie Drive, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing. She was confined to the Holding Center pending her arraignment.
* A deputy responded to Kanawha Street for a vehicle being stuck on the train tracks. The vehicle was located about 100 yards from Kanawha Street on the right side of the tracks with the passenger side of the vehicle stuck in the ditch. EMS advised the male subject was in the back seat of the vehicle with the vehicle running. EMS had the male in the ambulance and upon the deputy getting into the ambulance the male subject jumped out and began to flee, he was apprehended and placed in restraints. Damon Aaron Reed, 42, of 36th Street, was arrested on charges of DUI 2nd, fleeing from officer, obstruction and no proof of insurance.
* A deputy responded to U.S. 50 near the 5 mile marker for a vehicle accident. The driver stated his steering locked causing him to lose control and strike the concrete median. The vehicle was towed and no injuries were reported.
* Jacob Ray Jewell, 28, of Jonestown Road, St. Marys, was issued a citation for driving on suspended/revoked and expired MVI.
* A deputy responded to the I-77 exit ramp in Mineral Wells for an acicdent involving two vehicles. Both vehicles were able to be driven and the drivers were instructed to pull into the parking lot nearby to clear the road with the deputy following both drivers. The male driver pulled into the parking lot with the female driver continuing onto Old Nicolette Road with the deputy following her with lights and sirens attempting to have her stop. She finally pulled into the entrance to the Microtel Hotel. Holly Rene Thorn, 25, of Grassy Run Road, was arrested on charges of fleeing while DUI. She was transported to the Holding Center where she was placed pending her arraignment.
* Deputies responded to American Drive for a domestic in progress about a child custody where the male had left in a vehicle with the child. The vehicle was stopped by a deputy while the others responded to the residence to check on the female. The female was observed to have redness around her neck as she stated she had been choked by the male. A friend was given permission from the female to get the child from the male subject and Brandon Lewis Flinn, 25, of Campbell Drive, was arrested on charges of strangulation. He was transported to the Holding Center for processing and placed pending his arraignment.
