MARIETTA – Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges on Oct. 29.
* On Oct. 28 Detective Smeeks requested a warrant for Sheldon D. Hill, 32, 1830 State Route 550 Apt. E, Bartlett, for breaking and entering. Smeeks identified Hill through security footage at the Country Corner Grocery, 2346 State Route 550, Cutler, and obtained a search warrant for his residence. Inside the residence, Smeeks found a ham that was stolen from the store and the clothing Hill wore during the crime.
* On Oct. 28 Deputy Sheriff McKee and the Fearing and Salem fire departments responded to a vehicle fire at the Dalzell Carryout at 8233 Dalzell Road, Lower Salem. The driver of a delivery truck owned by Pierce Snack Distributing stopped at the carryout for lunch and shortly thereafter noticed smoke emanating from the back of the truck. The fire caused moderate damage to the truck. However, the consumable goods in the truck were a $2,000 loss. The cause of the fire is unknown.
* On Oct. 29 Sgt. McGilton requested a summons for William Z. Huffman, 29, 9580 State Route 339, Vincent, for failing to confine/restrain a dog. Two days earlier, two of Huffman’s dogs were loose and killed 15 of his neighbor’s chickens. The same dogs have killed the victim’s chickens in the past and are often seen running loose in the neighborhood.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail Wednesday and Thursday:
* Scott Elroy West, 40, 21485 State Route 550, Amesville, for domestic violence, a felony. West was picked up at the Athens County line by Lt. Stackpole of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail.
* Keith Irons, 33, 113 Edgar St., Saint Albans, W.Va., for being a fugitive from justice, a felony. Irons was arrested at the Locker Room by Patrolman Smith of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Oct. 27.
* On Oct. 26, Kelley Bullard-Martin, 51, 2207 Murray St., Apt. B, Belpre, reported she believes her daughter stole two antique Fenton lamps from her home earlier in the day. Martin said the lamps have a value of approximately $1,600.
* On Oct. 27, Sgt. Johnson and Deputy Sheriff Call responded to an alarm at the Country Corner Grocery at 2346 Ohio 550, Cutler. Upon viewing security footage, the deputies observed an unknown white male entering the store through an unlocked window. The suspect then stole unknown amounts of deli meat and packs of cigarettes before exiting the same window through which he entered. The suspect was wearing jeans, work boots, a blue sweatshirt and a hooded camouflage jacket.
* Stephen Michael Six, 47, 833 Pike St., Apt. 19, Marietta, was arrested for a felony charge of domestic violence and two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct. Six was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 26 at 12:56 p.m.
* Lionel Justin Gore, 28, 130 Cemetery Road, New Matamoras, was arrested for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Gore was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Blamble of the New Matamoras Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 26 at 5:20 p.m.
* Ali Rae Martin, 26, 101 Stonecrest Drive, Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of her probation, a felony. Martin was arrested on Washington Boulevard in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Johnson and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 26 at 6:06 p.m.
* Holly Michelle Scott, 38, 1206 Lockwood St., Apt. C, Belpre, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Scott was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Heddleston of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 27 at 12:06 a.m.
* Brandon J. Blevins, 26, 26 Haught St., Parkersburg, was sentenced to nine months for violating his probation, a felony.
* April N. Calvert, 29, 325 Sandhill Road, Marietta, was sentenced to six months for violating her probation, a felony.
* Christopher P. Smith, 28, 2805 Dudley Ave., Parkersburg, was sentenced to 11 months for theft, a fifth-degree felony.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Oct. 28.
* On Oct. 23, Joseph J. Lang, 70, 101 Williams St., Marietta, reported someone utilized his personal information to purchase $3,000 worth of mobile phones at a Best Buy in Colorado. Lang contacted the company and will not be held liable for the charges.
* On Oct. 24, the residents at 300, 301, 302, 304 and 305 Chamberlain Drive, Marietta, reported their mailboxes were damaged during the night.
* On Oct. 27, a passerby reported finding an orange and black Mongoose brand mountain bike at the intersection of Ohio 339 and Buchanan Road in Waterford Township.
* On Oct. 27, Maegan Williams, 19, 112 Pine Drive, Little Hocking, reported at some point during the night someone entered her vehicle and stole two bottles of her prescription medication.
* On Oct. 27, the L-A Emergency Squad transported a 31-year-old Adams Township resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to a possible drug overdose. The victim’s mother stated her son has been asleep for approximately 18 hours. The victim’s mother said he has been ordering drugs off the Internet. In the victim’s room, Lt. Hornbeck located a small packet of powder that was marked “not for human consumption.” The victim’s current condition is unknown.
* Shannon Thomas Scott, 26, 1943 Ohio 550, Cutler, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Scott was arrested at the Probation Office by Deputy Sheriff McPeek and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 27 at 12:01 p.m.
* Tyson Davis, 36, 168 Bechtel Ave., Akron, was arrested for complicity in possession of drugs, a felony. Davis was picked up at the Western Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff Moyers and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 27 at 2:35 p.m.
* Jo Ellen Berry, 25, 110 Indian Run Road, Marietta, was arrested for theft, a misdemeanor. Berry was arrested at the office of Probation Officer E. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 28 at 10:09 a.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Oct. 16.
* On Oct. 15, for the second day in a row, Deputy Sheriff Hall arrested James D. Pedrick, 54, for disorderly conduct by intoxication. Again at Par Mar, 3355 Ohio 821, Marietta, Pedrick was drunkenly harassing customers and asking them for money. Pedrick tested .220 BAC.
* On Oct. 15, Deputy Sheriff Reeder requested a summons for a 40-year-old Belpre resident for disorderly conduct by intoxication. Following an argument with her boyfriend, the woman broke a beer bottle and cut her right wrist. The victim was hysterical and had to be held to the floor so that pressure could be applied to her wound. The Little Hocking Volunteer Fire Department transported the victim to Memorial Hospital’s Belpre campus for treatment to her wound.
* On Oct. 16, Deputy Sheriff McPeek requested summonses for Evan Keel, 25, 1666 School House Road, Little Hocking, and Travis Rager, 24, Route 1, Box 125, Flemington, W.Va., for disorderly conduct by fighting. The two were involved in an argument that resulted in a brief physical confrontation. During the dispute, Rager struck Keel’s truck with a mattock, leaving a hole in the hood. Keel declined to pursue charges against Rager for the damage to his truck.
* Aaron Casey Brooks, 24, 303 Fifth St., Lowell, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Brooks was arrested at the office of Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 15 at 3:28 p.m.
* William Lee Murphy, 20, 508 Phillips St., Marietta, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and for contempt of a court order, both misdemeanors. Murphy was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Hanson of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 15 at 4:01 p.m.
* Jessica Dawn Drake, 27, 326 N. Greenbrier Road, Statesville, N.C., was arrested for a felony charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and misdemeanor charges of theft and breach of recognizance. Drake was picked up in Marysville and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 15 at 5:36 p.m.
* Duane Earl Little III, 32, 2690 Milner Road, Waterford, was arrested for driving under an FRA suspended license, a misdemeanor. Little was arrested in Waterford by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 15 at 8:56 p.m.
* James Dawayne Pedrick, 54, Marietta, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Pedrick was arrested at the Pit Stop by Deputy Sheriff Hall and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 15 at 8:26 p.m.
* Isaiah Thomas Rutter, 25, 627 Front St., Marietta, was arrested for failure to appear, a felony. Rutter was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Harlow of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 16 at 2:16 a.m.
* Roger Lee Lozier, 55, 205 Second St., Lot 4, Beverly, was arrested for failing to reinstate his operator’s license, a misdemeanor. Lozier was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Ellenwood of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 16 at 9:46 a.m.
* Roger A. Adams Jr., 32, 989 Mitchells Lane, Marietta, was sentenced to 16 months for forgery, a fifth-degree felony; assault, a first-degree misdemeanor.
* Angela M. Doyle, 46, 24122 Covert St., Parkersburg, was sentenced to 35 days for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a first-degree misdemeanor.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Oct. 15.
* On Oct. 13, Sgt. Holbert arrested Jamie C. Waters, 43, 29075 Ohio 7, Marietta, for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and for possession of drug paraphernalia. Stopped for driving outside the marked lanes of travel on Masonic Park Road, Waters had an odor of alcohol, was unsteady on his feet and had glassy, bloodshot eyes. During a consensual search of Waters’ vehicle, Sgt. Holbert discovered a bag of marijuana and a marijuana pipe. At the Washington County Jail, Waters tested .088 BAC.
* On Oct. 14, a clerk at Par Mar, 3355 Ohio 821, Marietta, reported an unknown male was harassing customers, asking them for money and rides. When customers refused his requests, the male, later identified as James D. Pedrick, 54, would yell at them. Questioned by Sgt. Mankins and Deputy Sheriff Hall, Pedrick said he has been hitchhiking for months and stated he was en route to South Carolina. Pedrick appeared intoxicated and tested .177 BAC. Based on his observations, Deputy Hall arrested Pedrick for disorderly conduct by intoxication and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
* James Dawayne Pedrick, 54, Marietta, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Pedrick was arrested at the Pit Stop by Deputy Sheriff Hall and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 14 at 4:04 p.m.
* Keith Allen Nibert, 53, 210 1/2 Fourth St., Beverly, was arrested for breach of recognizance and for disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors. Nibert was arrested in Beverly by Patrolman Perine of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 14 at 11:19 p.m.
* Kylie D. Piatt, 26, 118 Arborgate Drive, Marietta, was sentenced to 45 days for theft, a fourth degree felony.
* Natalie S. Weckbacher, 32, 300 Center St., Beverly, was sentenced to 31 days for burglary, a felony.
* Dillon A. Young, 22, 7140 Sissonville Drive, Sissonville, W.Va., was sentenced to 24 months for failure to comply with the order, signal of an officer, a third degree felony.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Oct. 13.
* On Oct. 10, Deputy Sheriff Hall requested summonses for Dwayne S. Singer, 23, 2050 Roberts Road, Amesville, for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Singer was in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked in the area of 2300 Lake Road in Dunham Township. Under questioning, Singer admitted being in possession of marijuana and a marijuana pipe.
* On Oct. 10, Lt. Gherke responded to the scene of death of a 64-year-old Newport resident. The man’s death appears to be due to natural causes; no foul play is suspected.
* On Oct. 12, Deputy Sheriff McPeek and the Warren Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire at 575 Bramblewood Heights Road, Marietta. The 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix was driven to the location by an acquaintance of the vehicle’s owner, Brandie Lamp, 32, 341 Tadpole Run Road, Belpre. The fire’s cause appears to be mechanical. The vehicle was a total loss.
* On Oct. 12, the nurse at Waterford Elementary School reported she believes a parent tampered with their child’s prescription medication prior to dropping it off at the school.
* On Oct. 12, corrections officer Farrell charged Washington County Jail inmate Cortney D. Cooke, 21, 114 Dean St., Marietta, with a felony charge of illegal conveyance of items into a detention facility. Arrested for violating her probation, Cooke was found in possession of five prescription pills while she was being processed into the jail.
* April Nichole Calvert, 29, 325 Sandhill Road, Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of her probation, a felony. Calvert was picked up in Franklin County by Deputy Sheriff Tornes and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 9 at 11:40 a.m.
* Justin Michael Klintworth, 23, 1007 Orchard St., Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of his parole, a felony. Klintworth was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 9 at 11:50 a.m.
* Brandon Marie Boling, 31, 319 N. Seventh St., Marietta, was arrested for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Boling was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff McKee and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 9 at 2:15 p.m.
* Scott Paul Pasco, 34, 700 Muskingum River Road, Lowell, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Pasco was arrested in Lowell by Sgt. Mankins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 9 at 7:38 p.m.
* Kristin Jeanette Bechtold, 25, 5300 13th Ave., Vienna, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Bechtold was arrested at the Locker Room by Patrolman Dennison of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 10 at 3:32 a.m.
* Amanda Asia Wallace, 21, 39401 Creighton Ridge Road, Lower Salem, was arrested for theft and for breach of recognizance, both misdemeanors. Wallace was apprehended by a bondsman in Florida and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 10 at 10:05 a.m.
* Kevin Lemont Hancock, 35, 718 Ohio Ave., Belpre, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Hancock was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Campbell of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 10 at 10 a.m.
* James Dawayne Pedrick, 54, Marietta, was arrested for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor. Pedrick was arrested near milepost six on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 11 at 3:09 p.m.
* Richard Owen Meier, 56, 12th Street, White City, Ore., was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Meier was arrested on Front Street by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 11 at 5:44 p.m.
* Timothy Ilan Clifton, 29, 4616 Federal Road, Coolville, was arrested for receiving stolen property, a felony. Clifton was arrested on Strahler Road by Deputy Sheriff Hall and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 11 at 10:46 p.m.
* Cortney Dawn Cooke, 21, 114 Dean St., Marietta, was arrested for a felony charge of illegal conveyance of items into a detention facility and a misdemeanor charge of violating the terms of her probation. Cooke was arrested at the office of Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 12 at 11:33 a.m.
* Joel Edward Cooke, 25, 114 Dean St., Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Cooke was arrested at the office of Probation Officer E. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 12 at 12:41 p.m.
* Daniel Armando Banales, 36, 1106 24th St., Parkersburg, was arrested for criminal trespassing and for five counts of theft, all misdemeanors. Banales was arrested at Wal-Mart by Patrolman Kramer of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 12 at 9:04 p.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Oct. 14.
* On Oct. 9, Sgt. Mankins encountered a two-vehicle crash on Lowell Hill Road near the intersection of Muskingum River Road. A short time later, Scott Pasco, 34, 7001 Muskingum River Road, Lowell, arrived at the scene and began yelling at his wife, who was involved in the crash. Sgt. Mankins noticed Pasco had an odor of alcohol and that he was unsteady on his feet. Pasco provided a breath sample and was over the legal limit. Sgt. Mankins arrested Pasco for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and transported him to the Washington County Jail. At the jail, Pasco tested .114 BAC.
* On Oct. 13, Sgt. Holbert responded to a domestic dispute at 2437 Congress Road, Belpre. Marjean Ullman, 46, reported she and her husband are in the process of divorcing and were involved in an argument that morning. Ullman said she was not assaulted or threatened, but she feared the argument could escalate. Based on his investigation, Sgt. Holbert closed this case as unfounded.
* Robert Lee Tippie, 42, 920 Front St., Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Tippie was arrested at the Adult Parole Office by Deputy Sheriff Sheaves and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 13 at 3:06 p.m.
* Joshua Dakota Hart, 18, Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Hart was picked up in Lancaster by Deputy Sheriff Tornes and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct 13 at 3:40 p.m.
* Charrise Nannette Britton, 49, 105 Gilman St., Lot 8, Marietta, was arrested for driving under a suspended license and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel, both misdemeanors. Britton was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Ellenwood of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 13 at 4:04 p.m.
* Megan Cheyenne Roach, 23, 804 Fourth St., Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of her probation, a felony. Roach was arrested at the Adult Parole Office by Deputy Sheriff Sheaves and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 13 at 4:21 p.m.
* Matthew Scott Taylor, 19, 348 Grant St., Middleport, Ohio, was arrested for burglary and for breaking and entering, both felonies. Taylor was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Ellenwood of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 13 at 5:11 p.m.
* Shanna Jo Gorrell, 36, 153 Washington St., Waterford, was arrested for felony charges of theft and tampering with drugs and a misdemeanor charge of violating the terms of her probation. Gorrell was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Hunter and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 13 at 5:49 p.m.
* Jamie Christopher Waters, 43, 29075 Ohio 7, Marietta, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, for failing to reinstate his operator’s license and for possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors. Waters was arrested on Masonic Park Road by Sgt. Holbert of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 13 at 7:28 p.m.
* Antwan Maurice Gowans, 26, 631 Fifth St., Marietta, was arrested for operating a vehicle with an expired license and for failure to appear, both misdemeanors. Gowans was arrested on Fifth Street by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 14 at 2 a.m.
* Shawn Eugene Reese, 39, 126 Walker St., Marietta, was arrested for disorderly conduct by fighting, a misdemeanor. Reese was arrested on Pike Street by Patrolman Hanson of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 14 at 8:41 a.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Oct. 9:
* On Oct. 6, deputies and the Watertown Volunteer Fire Department responded to a barn fire on the property of Veronica Bosner, 45, at 15712 Ohio 676, Waterford. The fire damaged two tractors, an excavator, two spreaders, a total of 400 bales of straw and hay, tools and two ATVs. The cause of the fire is unknown, but it does not appear to be suspicious.
* On Oct. 7, a deputy arrested Aaron D. Schultz, 18, 72 High St., Vincent, on a charge of domestic violence. His mother, Joyce Koon, 40, reported an argument over a computer with her son escalated to a physical confrontation. During the dispute, Koon shoved her son away from her and accidentally hit him in the head with her head. Schultz responded by forcefully grabbing his mother by the face and then the arm. Koon stated her son does not take his medication to control his anger and his actions caused her to fear for her safety.
* On Oct. 8, the Warren Volunteer Fire Department transported a 39-year-old Warren Township resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to a possible drug overdose. The victim was found breathing, but incoherent, lying in her driveway. Her current condition was unknown.
* On Oct. 9, deputies were dispatched to a domestic dispute at 3531 Wells Road, Apt. 3, Waterford. Elizabeth Hopp, 36, reported she was upset that her live-in boyfriend arrived home intoxicated in the early morning hours so she began packing his clothes. Hopp’s boyfriend became angry and started yelling and throwing things. The deputies noticed that both parties appeared to be intoxicated but did not see any signs of a struggle. Neither party reported being in fear for their safety during the incident. As a result, a deputy closed the case as unfounded.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Thursday and Friday:
* Alan Earl Hardin, 24, 233 Hillcrest Drive, Apt. C, Marietta, for theft, a felony. Hardin was arrested at his residence by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 8.
* Thomas Gene Carpenter Jr., 44, 214 Patricia Drive, Apt. G, Byesville, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Carpenter was picked up at the Guernsey County Jail by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 8.
* Abdullah Sami Aloraini, 20, 215 Fifth St., Marietta, for operating a vehicle without a license and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel, both misdemeanors. Aloraini was arrested on Colegate Drive by Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 8.
* Trista Ann Oliver, 21, 619 Tenth St., Marietta, for obstructing official business and for violating the terms of her probation, both misdemeanors. Oliver was arrested at her residence by Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 7.
* John Matthew Lowry, 60, 104 Heiss Drive, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Lowry was arrested at his residence by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 9.
* Michael Wayne Brownrigg, 46, 752 N. Kennebec Road, McConnelsville, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Brownrigg was arrested in Beverly by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 9.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Oct. 5:
* On Oct. 2, a resident on Wynncrest Drive in Warren Township reported his neighbor’s 5-year-old son came to his residence that morning and said no one else was in the home when he woke up. Questioning the child’s mother, a deputy learned the child’s grandmother was at the home when the parents left to attend job interviews. The case remains under investigation.
* On Oct. 2, a summons was requested for Ulysses E. Wells, 36, 737 Mary St., Belpre, for possession of marijuana. A deputy was traveling southbound on Ohio 339 when he observed Wells’ vehicle travel outside its lane of travel. When asked about the odor of marijuana emanating from his vehicle, Wells replied he was in possession of marijuana and produced two bags that had a total weight of less than 10 grams.
* On Oct. 3, a deputy arrested Jeryl R. Gasser, 50, 116 Main St., Belle Valley, for making terroristic threats. An employee at the Reno Post Office reported Gasser became angry after she was informed she could not have a second key for the mailbox she just rented. Though she was informed an additional key could be provided at a later date, Gasser demanded a refund. When a post office employee said a refund was not possible due to the fact that she signed a contract, Gasser became apoplectic and exclaimed “I ought to light this place up!” Gasser exited the building, then paced back and forth while reaching into her purse, causing employees to further fear for their safety.
* On Oct. 3, Troy Lemasters, 48, 16500 County Road 9, New Matamoras, reported an unknown suspect used his personal information to purchase three iPhones in the 330 area code. Lemasters’ mobile phone company was able to refund his account for approximately $1,500. The case remains under investigation.
* On Oct. 3, Bryan Carpenter, 51, 528 Federal Road, Little Hocking, reported his ex-wife, Brenda L. Morris, 55, 45 Ross Road, Little Hocking, was on his property, yelling and banging on doors and windows. On five occasions since late June, deputies have responded to Carpenter’s residence because of Morris’ harassment. Morris was warned during those incidents that she was not welcome on Carpenter’s property. Consequently, a deputy requested summonses for Morris for criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct.

* Megan Cheyenne Roach, 23, 804 Fourth St., Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a felony. Roach was arrested at the Washington County Courthouse by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 2.
* Shoshawna Marie Lowers, 30, 970 Dixon Ridge Road, Lowell, for theft, a felony. Lowers was arrested at her residence by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 2.
* Nicholas Greier Rubinoff, 20, 3733 Providence Road, Newtown Square, Pa., for felony and misdemeanor charges of possession of drugs. Rubinoff was arrested on U.S. 50 near the Athens County line by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 2.
* Taylor Marie King, 25, 224 S. High Street, Marion, Ohio, for felony charges of breach of recognizance and possession of drugs and a misdemeanor charge of nonsupport of dependents. King was picked up at the Franklin County Jail by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 2.
* Lindsey Marie Lucas, 31, 108 Colonial Square, Apt. A, Belpre, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Lucas was arrested at the probation office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 2.
* Meriah Shay Dunn, 25, 9630 Ohio 260, New Matamoras, for trafficking in drugs and for possession of drugs, both felonies. Dunn was arrested in Marietta by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 2.

* On Oct. 2, a deputy cited Hunter J. Simmons, 27, 801 Dewey Ave., St. Marys, on a charge of operating a vehicle without a license following a traffic stop on Ohio 7 in Newport Township.
* On Oct. 3, a deputy cited Meradeth Myers, 21, 700 Dalzell Road, Whipple, on a charge of driving under a suspended license following a traffic stop on Ohio 821 in Salem Township.
* On Oct. 4, Paige A. Dyer-Day, 18, 402 Walnut St., Lowell, reported she was at a party on Neff Ridge Road the previous evening when an acquaintance assaulted her. Dyer-Day said one woman threw her to the floor and another jumped on her and struck her several times in the back of the head. She declined to pursue charges in the matter.
* On Oct. 4, Opal Waggoner, 66, 1675 Hickman Road, Waterford, was backing her Toyota truck from a parking stall at 685 Warrior Drive, Barlow, when she struck the driver side door of a Chrysler minivan owned by Melissa Holland, 51, 1201 20th St., Vienna. Both vehicles sustained light damage.
* On Oct. 4, a Beverly resident reported his adult-aged son was behaving in a strange manner and he believed he was on drugs. The resident said his son fell down outside steps and was lying on the ground unresponsive. A deputy noticed the victim had glassy, bloodshot eyes and that he was unsteady on his feet. The Beverly Squad responded and transported the victim to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Monday and Tuesday:
* Branden Dwight Ramage, 21, 206 Jennison St., Beverly, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Ramage was arrested at the probation office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 5.
* Daniel Wayne Goldsmith, 24, 101 Theis Ave., Lot 1, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Goldsmith turned himself in to corrections officers and was processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 15.
* Jeremy Michael Phipps, 36, 215 Harmar St., Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Phipps was arrested on Wood Street by the Marietta Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 5.
* Sarah Nicole Nedley, 27, 410 Main St., New Matamoras, for two counts of theft and two counts of criminal trespassing, all misdemeanors. Nedley was arrested in New Matamoras by the New Matamoras Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 5.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Oct. 7:
* On Oct. 3, Deputy Sheriff McKee issued a citation to Sunday A. Franklin, 40, of 28 Nibert Road, Gallipolis, for failure to obey a traffic control device. Deputy McKee stopped Franklin after she failed to stop at the stoplight at the intersection of State Route 339 and State Route 550 in Barlow Township.
* On Oct. 3, Deputy Sheriff McKee issued a citation to Richard G. Petty, 35, of 1509 23rd St., Parkersburg, for failure to obey a traffic control device. Deputy McKee stopped Petty after he failed to stop at a stop sign at the end of the exit ramp from State Route 7 to State Route 339 in Belpre Township.
* On Oct. 5, Benjamin King, 26, of 1406 Avery St., Parkersburg, reported he was traveling southbound on State Route 339 when an unknown woman flagged him down around midnight. After he stopped, King said a male approached him with an object in his hand. Fearing for his safety, King punched the male. At that time, a second male attacked King and hit him in the face with a blunt object, rendering him unconscious. When he awoke, King was missing his wallet, which contained $450. King suffered a mild concussion during the attack and received treatment at Memorial Hospital’s Belpre campus. This case remains under investigation.
* On Oct. 5, Detective Smeeks arrested Philip E. Eddy, 34, of 407 Fourth St., Apt. A, Marietta, for failing to register as a sex offender. Eddy was convicted in the state of Washington of first-degree child molestation and ordered to register as a sex offender. Though Eddy claimed he was unaware that he was required to register as a sex offender if he moved away from Washington, Smeeks has court documents bearing Eddy’s signature where he acknowledges his duty to register. Under questioning, King said he has lived in Washington County for four years.
* On Oct. 5, the owner of Miracle Electrical Services reported at some point during the past three days an unknown suspect broke a window to gain access to a work van at his jobsite at Eramet at 16705 State Route 7, Marietta. From inside the van, the suspect stole a tool bag containing numerous tools. The total value of the tools is approximately $750. This case remains under investigation.
* On Oct. 5, David J. Mason, 55, of 650 Stacy Orchard Road, Marietta, reported that after a collections agency contacted him, he learned an unknown suspect used his personal information to open an AT&T account in Pompano Beach, Fla. This case remains under investigation.
* On Oct. 6, five residents on Teri Lane and Franklin Drive in Little Hocking reported their vehicles were entered sometime during the night. Among the items stolen were two laptop computers, clothing, prescription medication, cash and a speaker. This case remains under investigation.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Tuesday and Wednesday:
* Diane Nicole Miracle, 27, of 1315 Ridgeway Ave., Parkersburg, for passing bad checks and for receiving stolen property, both misdemeanors. Miracle was arrested in Belpre by Belpre Police and processed into the jail on Oct. 6.
* Stacey Eugene Feldner, 47, of 105 E. Montgomery St., Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Feldner was arrested in Marietta by Marietta police and processed into the jail on Oct. 7.
* Aaron Douglas Schultz, 18, of 72 High St., Vincent, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Schultz was arrested at his residence by sheriff’s deputies and processed into the jail on Oct. 7.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Oct. 2:
* On Sept. 13, Heather D. May, 27, 1308 Williamson Ave., Apt. 8A, New Matamoras, reported she was away from her apartment for a brief period that evening and during that time someone entered her home and stole her boyfriend’s HP laptop computer. This case remains under investigation.
* On Oct. 1, the Reno Volunteer Fire Department transported David McKinney, 46, 1404 32nd St., Vienna, to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment following a fall. McKinney was lowering the walkway between two sets of scaffolding at a residence on Eldorado Drive in Marietta Township when the walkway fell 12 feet to the ground with him holding onto it, landing on his head and shoulder. He was alert and talkative when a deputy interviewed him at the hospital.
* On Oct. 1, a member of the Pythian Lodge, 20 State St., Lowell, reported he recently discovered that deep fryer baskets, copper tubing, brass fittings, stainless steel parts and other items were stolen from the lodge building. The value of the stolen property is approximately $500. This case remains under investigation.
* On Oct. 1, a 9-month-old received treatment at Memorial Hospital in Belpre after his family dog bit him in the face. The dog was eating when the child touched its rear leg. The dog snapped at the child and left scratches on the right side of his face. The child did not require stitches.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Oct. 1.
* On Sept. 28, Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Sara L. Offenberger, 25, 4205 Buchanan Road, Waterford, for traveling 66 mph in a 55 mph zone. Sgt. Mankins stopped Offenberger near milepost seven on State Route 60 in Muskingum Township.
* On Sept. 28, Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Kylie D. Piatt, 26, 118 Arborgate Drive, Marietta, for traveling 40 mph in a 20 mph school zone and for failing to reinstate her operator’s license. Sgt. Mankins stopped Piatt near Lowell Elementary School in Adams Township.
* On Sept. 28, Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Gerald C. Mason, 53, 680 Staph Road, Waterford, for traveling 67 mph in a 55 mph zone. Sgt. Mankins stopped Mason on Ohio 60 near Bear Creek Road in Muskingum Township.
* On Sept. 30, an employee of Marietta Polaris, 27425 Ohio 7, Marietta, reported around midnight someone stole two Polaris RZR ATVs from a fenced in area behind the business. The ATVs are valued at approximately $10,000 each.
* Chad Edward Stock, 22, 257 Front Drive, New Matamoras, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Stock was picked up in Huttonsville, W.Va., by Deputy Sheriff Sheaves and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 30 at 2:49 p.m.
* Andrew Franklin Morgan, 29, 1157 Clement Ave., Belpre, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Morgan was arrested in Barlow by Deputy Sheriff Hall and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 30 at 5:42 p.m.
* Shawn Michael Eddy, 21, 112 Windy Ridge Road, Vincent, was arrested for domestic violence and aggravated menacing, both misdemeanors. Eddy was arrested in Vincent by Deputy Sheriff McConnell and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 30 at 8:45 p.m.
* Cody Alan Murphey, 30, 6430 N. Buttermilk Hill Road, McConnelsville, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Murphey was arrested in Beverly by Patrolman Perine of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 30 at 9:49 p.m.
* Derek Jerome Waterman, 22, 50 Warner Second St., Lower Salem, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Waterman was arrested at the courthouse by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct. 1 at 11:32 p.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Sept. 28.
* On Sept. 25, Samuel W. Jones, 43, 5540 County Road 50, Glenmont, Ohio, reported at some point during the past three weeks, someone entered his hunting cabin at 3971 Sheets Run Drive, New Matamoras. Jones said a heater, a coffee pot and antique pottery were stolen.
* On Sept. 25, Deputy Sheriff Hall responded to a fire at Kraton at 2419 Ohio 618, Belpre. Employees discovered a solvent leak on a piece of machinery that developed into a fire. The Kraton fire brigade extinguished the fire without incident. No injuries were reported.
* On Sept. 26, Melissa D. Warrener, 35, 122 Tennis Center Drive, Apt. 25, Marietta, reported she was asleep at a friend’s residence when Meriah S. Dunn, 25, 9630 Ohio 260, New Matamoras, awakened her by forcefully pressing her thumbs into her eyes. Dunn blamed Warrener for the prison time she is facing and struck her on the left side of her head with a coffee cup. Dunn then fled from the scene. The L-A Emergency Squad responded and transported Warrener to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment. Based on his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Hall requested a warrant for Dunn for assault.
* On Sept. 26, Deputy Sheriff McKee arrested Tyler N. Thompson, 19, 55870 Barnesville St., Barnesville, Ohio, for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. After receiving reports of an intoxicated driver, Deputy McKee located Thompson on Ohio 7 near Sheets Run Drive in New Matamoras. He conducted a traffic stop after observing Thompson’s vehicle travel outside the marked lane. Thompson admitted consuming three beers but performed poorly on field sobriety tests. At the Washington County Jail, Thompson tested .104 BAC.
* On Sept. 27, Grant A. Wallace, 28, 19440 Ohio 550, Marietta, reported sometime during the past week a trail camera was stolen from a wooded area on Martin Drive in Warren Township.
* Billy Lynn Ertz II, 45, 6235 Lestock Road, Apt. B, Cumberland, Ohio, was arrested for a felony charge of being a fugitive from justice and misdemeanor charges of criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct and for possessing an open container of alcohol. Ertz was picked up at the Guernsey County Jail and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 25 at 2:56 p.m.
* Susan Ray Harvey, 41, 11722 Ohio 555, Cutler, was arrested for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Harvey was arrested at the office of Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 25 at 4:31 p.m.
* Jennifer Kathleen Thornton, 42, 102 Howard St., Marietta, was arrested for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Thornton was arrested at her residence and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 25 at 5:23 p.m.
* Beth Ann Cain, 26, 51 Simon Lane, Washington, W.Va., was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Cain was arrested on Mitchells Lane by Deputy Sheriff McKee and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 25 at 10:59 p.m.
* Samantha Lashay Runnion, 22, 1722 W. 17th St., Panama City, Fla., was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Runnion was arrested on Seventh Street by Patrolman Harlow of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 26 at 1 a.m.
* Jacob Ryan Phillis, 23, 109 1/2 Wooster St., Marietta, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Phillis was arrested on Third Street by Patrolman Harlow of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 26 at 2:08 a.m.
* Corey Tyler Wilson, 27, 1216 Weppler Road, Lowell, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of drugs and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel, all misdemeanors. Wilson was arrested on Ohio 60 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 26 at 2:41 a.m.
* Justin Anthony Spillis, 26, 8269 Crosswind Road, Jacksonville, Fla., was arrested for theft, a misdemeanor. Spillis was arrested at Kmart by Patrolman Caldwell of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 26 at 12:17 p.m.
* Tyler Nathaniel Thompson, 19, 55870 Barnesville St., Barnesville, Ohio, was arrested for .02 breath operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Thompson was arrested on Ohio 7 by Deputy Sheriff McKee and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 26 at 2:08 a.m.
* Randy Craig Tompkins II, 27, 286 Fairway Drive, Beverly, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Tompkins was arrested on Front Street by Patrolman Harlow of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 27 at 12:18 a.m.
* Shawn Christopher McCurdy, 30, 309 Sixth St., Beverly, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. McCurdy was arrested on Second Street by Patrolman Harlow of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 26 at 3:31 a.m.

* Andrew Gavin Warwick, 27, 589 Old River Road, Williamstown, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Warwick was arrested on Washington Street by Patrolman Heddleston of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 27 at 4:26 a.m.
* Mathew Brennan Taylor, 25, 104 Riley Drive, Apt. 9, Marietta, was arrested for domestic violence, a felony. Taylor was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Dennison of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 27 at 3 a.m.
* Jeremy Matthew Rowe, 31, 817 Masonic Park Road, Lot 31, Marietta, was arrested for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Rowe was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Huffer and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 28 at 8:35 a.m.
* Derek Richard Holmes, 31, 1274 Warren Chapel Road, Fleming, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Holmes was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Ellenwood of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 27 at 9:26 a.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Sept. 29.
* On Sept. 25, Deputy Sheriff McKee arrested Beth A. Cain, 26, 51 Simon Lane, Washington, W.Va., for disorderly conduct by intoxication. Cain was drinking at a residence on Mitchells Lane and began causing problems. When the homeowner told Cain she could not drive because she was intoxicated, she began yelling at him. Cain was unsteady on her feet and fell to the ground while Deputy McKee was present. At the Washington County Jail, Cain tested .120 BAC.
* On Sept. 25, Kevin Casey, 48, 45660 County Road 58, Coshocton, reported after he exited a restroom at Hilltop Speedway, two unknown assailants attacked him. Casey suffered minor injuries that did not require medical attention.
* On Sept. 28, Jocelyn Whealdon, 25, 1029 Barth Road, Belpre, reported she was traveling toward her home on Ohio 7 when she became involved in an argument with the father of her child, Rodney K. May, 29, 195 Riverview Road, Pliny, W.Va. Whealdon said as May was driving, he got on top of her and bit her lip. At one point during an argument at Whealdon’s residence, May grabbed her phone and threw it, breaking the screen. Based on his investigation, Sgt. Johnson requested a warrant for May for domestic violence.
* On Sept. 28, a resident on Gunclub Road in Muskingum Township reported he found a marijuana pipe while he was weed eating on his property. Deputy Sheriff Johnson recovered the contraband and designated it for destruction.
* Kayla Donnielle Dial, 20, 8640 Deer Meadow Boulevard, Streetsboro, Ohio, was arrested for driving under a suspended license and speeding, both misdemeanors. Dial was arrested at the office of Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 28 at 11:29 a.m.
* Amanda Asia Wallace, 21, 69310 Creighton Ridge Road, Lower Salem, was arrested for theft and for breach of recognizance, both misdemeanors. Wallace was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Ellenwood of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 28 at 12:13 p.m.
* Danielle Nicole Oliver, 25, 184 Third St., Lowell, was arrested for theft, a felony. Oliver was arrested at her residence by Sgt. Mankins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 28 at 2 p.m.
* Shawn Michael Mulligan, 34, 715 Barclay St., Lot 33, Belpre, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Mulligan was arrested at Rite Aid by Patrolman Kramer of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 28 at 6:26 p.m.
* Eddie Lee Starcher, 48, 74 Coopers Ridge Road, Williamstown, was arrested for theft, breaking and entering and possession of criminal tools, all felonies. Starcher was arrested on Blue Knob Road by Deputy Sheriff McPeek and processed into the Washington County Jail on Sept. 29 at 1:41 a.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Sept. 30.
Two telephone scams are being reported by local residents. In the first scam, the caller informs the victim he or she won a sweepstakes-type of contest and is the winner of a luxury vehicle, such as a Mercedes, BMW or Cadillac, and a large cash prize. The second type scam involves the threat of arrest by the police, the court or the IRS. In these cases the caller will inform the victim there is a warrant for his or her arrest or they owe back taxes and if they don’t send money they will be arrested. The callers who are perpetrating the scams instruct the victim to purchase money cards or to send money transfers to avoid arrest or as a fee to release prize winnings. The phone number being used by the caller in the IRS scam is 202-241-4329, officials said.
* On Sept. 29, Matthew G. Schafer, 36, 445 Dodd Run Road, Marietta, reported during the past two days an unknown suspect(s) entered his garage and stole a three drawer toolbox that contained screwdrivers, lug wrenches, a socket set, tow hooks, a Dremel and C clamps. The total value of the stolen items is approximately $500.
* On Sept. 29, Deputy Sheriff Huffer requested a warrant for Shoshawna M. Lowers, 30, 310 Third St., Lowell, for a fourth-degree felony charge of theft. Lowers stole at least 11 checks from an 81-year-old Muskingum Township resident and successfully cashed seven of them before bank officials placed a hold on the victim’s account, officials said. Lowers allegedly cashed the checks for a total of $4,650.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail Tuesday and Wednesday:
* Garland D. Randolph III, 50, 553 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, for two counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor and for two counts of possession of sexually oriented material involving a minor, all felonies. Randolph was arrested at his residence by Detective Parks of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail.
* Marie Lynn Powell, 21, 54920 Hudson Road, Reedsville, for theft and for violating the terms of her probation, both misdemeanors. Powell was arrested in Lowell by Deputy Sheriff Huffer and processed into the Washington County Jail.
* Zachariah Wayne Beardsley, 28, 706 Florence St., Belpre, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Beardsley was arrested at the courthouse by Deputy Sheriff Gerber and processed into the Washington County Jail.
