Wood Magistrate
PARKERSBURG — The following cases were handled in Wood County Magistrate Court on Dec. 19:
* Michael K. Bass, 133 Market St. Apt. 110, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of second-offense shoplifting and being a fugitive from justice out of Athens County, Ohio on a charge of theft. He was held without bond.
* Scott Edwards Davis, 1412 School St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of strangulation and held on $50,000 bond.
* Chyanna Lynne VanCamp, 713 Grandview St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card and released on $1,500 bond.
* John Robert Doan Stauffer, c/o 112 Dutch Ridge Road, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of DUI and released on $500 bond.
* Melissa Rae Shuman, 600 Braxton St., Gassaway, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription, fined $176.48 and sentenced to 90 days in jail which was suspended and she was placed on six months of unsupervised probation.
* Joshua Joseph Sefton, 1736 Forest Hills Dr., Vienna, pleaded guilty to speeding (69 mph in a 55 mph zone) and fined $276.48.
* Jerome Williams, 715 Teft St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle without evidence of registration and fined $186.48. A charge of having no operator’s license was dismissed, per a plea agreement.
* Lee Anna Charlton, 1588 Federal Road, Little Hocking, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription and sentenced to six months in jail which was suspended and she was placed on one year of unsupervised probation. Charges of possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription (two counts) and obstruction with threats of harm were dismissed, per a plea agreement.
* Maci Kalyan Coutz, 48 Holland Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to battery, fined $186.48 and sentenced to 30 days in jail which was suspended and was placed on one year of unsupervised probation along with one year of counseling.
* Trampus Ray Burdette, 1449 Missouri Run Road, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to attempted destruction of property and petit larceny, fined $377.42 and sentenced to one day in jail which was ruled as time served. He was also sentenced to one year in jail which was suspended and he was placed on two years of unsupervised probation. He was ordered to seek treatment.
* Dustin Ray Kinney, PO Box 317, Walker, had a preliminary hearing waived on charges of attempt to commit a felony, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and wanton endangerment involving a firearm. The case was sent to Wood County Circuit Court.
* Terry Allen Pierce, 2023 Kin 3404 Apt. 2, Belpre, had a charge of burglary dismissed as the state could not meet the burden of proof and the alleged victim said he was allowed to be on the property.
* Corey Hunter, C/O 1007 12th St., Vienna, had a charge of fourth-degree arson dismissed without prejudice after the alleged victim did not appear in court
* Cheryl Renee Naylor, 201 Belle Meadow Dr., Marietta, had a preliminary hearing waived on a charge of conspiracy to manufacture, deliver or possess with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance. The case was sent to Wood County Circuit Court.
* Brayden Taylor Roux, 4405 Jefferson St., Parkersburg, had a preliminary hearing waived on two counts of of child abuse resulting in injury. The case was sent to Wood County Circuit Court.
* David Kenneth Riel, 1213 Pike St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to obstruction with threats of harm, fined $176.48 and sentenced to 78 days in jail which was ruled as time served. He had a charge of attempting to disarm an officer dismissed per a plea agreement
* Steven Ray Jenkins, 6542 Pike St., Mineral Wells, pleaded no contest to a charge of disorderly conduct and fined $186.48. He had a charge of reckless driving dismissed, per a plea agreement.
