PARKERSBURG -- The following cases were handled in Wood County Magistrate Court on Jan. 22:
* Joseph Lynn Lowther, 115 Cherry St., Harrisville, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription (two counts), fined $352.96 and sentenced to six months in jail which was ruled as time served after serving 255 days.
* Ra'Quan Rahieem Dunbar-Tewolde, 1203 Beechwood Rd., Columbus, Ohio, had a preliminary hearing waived on a charge of manufacturing or possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver a Schedule I or II narcotic or meth. The case was sent to Wood County Circuit Court.
* Benjamin Ray Barber, 725 Bird St., Parkersburg, had a preliminary hearing waived on charges of fleeing from law enforcement in a vehicle showing reckless indifference and gross neglect of a child creating a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury (two counts). The case was sent to Wood County Circuit Court.
* Carl Hershall Dearston, 507 Laurel St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to trespassing and public intoxication and fined $372.96. A charge of disorderly conduct was dismissed, per a plea agreement.
* Brian Keith Riser, 3501 Sixth Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription, driving on a suspended license, fined $462.96 and sentenced to 120 days in jail which was suspended and he was placed on one year of unsupervised probation. Charges of having no insurance, improper registration and operating a vehicle without an inspection certificate were dismissed, per a plea agreement.
* Wesley Leonard Jacob Anderson, 239 Davisville Road, Davisville, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and fined $201.48. He was ordered to pay a $423.62 civil penalty to the Walmart store in Parkersburg. He also pleaded guilty to obstruction, fleeing from law enforcement, fined $352.96 and sentenced to 24 hours in jail for the obstruction charge and one year in jail for the fleeing charge which was suspended and he was placed on unsupervised probation for one year where he has to report to the Day Report Center regularly.
* Jessy Evan Miller, 2589 Carpenter's Run Road, Waverly, was arraigned on charges of public intoxication, obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct and released on $500 bond.
* Kelsey Marie Morrison, 11 James Court, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of battery of law-enforcement (two counts) and released on $2,000 bond.
* Bianca Lynee Bunch, 589 Harley Drive, Columbus, Ohio, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and released on $1,000 bond.
* Michael Jay Delancey, 601 Homeland Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of grand larceny and released on $2,500 bond.
* Joshua Lowell Johnson, 36270 Bailey Road, Pomeroy, Ohio, pleaded guilty to speeding and fined $186.48. A charge of littering was dismissed, per a plea agreement.
* Forest Carl Diehl, 310 Jefferson St., Tiltonsville, Ohio, pleaded guilty to speeding and fined $181.48.
* Thais Alannis Zamora-Gonzales, 4330 Jefferson Pike, Jefferson, Md., pleaded guilty to speeding and fined $191.48.

PARKERSBURG -- The following cases were handled in Wood County Magistrate Court on Jan. 23:
* Christopher William Carsons, 1111 24th St. Apt. 2, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle without an inspection certificate and fined $181.48.
* Tina Marie Little, 955 Marietta Run, Petroleum, pleaded guilty to speeding and fined $181.48.
* Rodney Brent Lemley, 2414 Mount Vernon Circle, Parkersburg, pleaded no contest to speeding and fined $186.48.
* Scotty Joseph Byers, 35 Meadowbrook Acres, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of having improper registration and second-offense driving on a suspended license and released on $500 bond.
* DaeMontae Javar Brown, 1333 Renaissance Circle, Charleston, was arraigned on charges of burglary and destruction of property and held on $10,000 bond.
* Brandy Lee Maloney, 235 Popular Dr., Scott Depot, was arraigned on a charge of reckless driving and released on $500 bond.
* Trey Austin Vierling, 51 Whiteberry Hollow, Mineral Wells, was arraigned on charges of driving while impaired with a BAC of less than .15, battery of a police officer (three counts), reckless driving, obstruction and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and released on $2,500 bond.
* Shawn Michael Casto, 4012 Fourth Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of shoplifting and released on $500 bond.
* Damian Joseph Rutter, 5021 Wilsonburg Road, Salem, W.Va., had a preliminary hearing waived on charges of receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle and manufacture or possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver a Schedule I or II narcotic or meth. The case was sent to Wood County Circuit Court.
* Jeffrey Wayne Davis, 2918 Newbury Road, Little Hocking, pleaded guilty to second-offense driving on a revoked license, fined $1,176.48 and placed on six months of home confinement. He had a charge of third-offense driving on a suspended license for DUI dismissed, per a plea agreement.
* Jacqueline Daley Burgess, 9035 Six Mile Run, Danville, pleaded guilty to battery of a government official, health care providers, utility workers, law enforcement and/or EMS, fined $176.48 and sentenced to 163 days in jail which was ruled as time served.
* Heather Necole Hayes, 601 Stephenson Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to two counts assault of a government official, health care providers, utility workers, law enforcement, brandishing a deadly weapon, fined $529.44 and sentenced to six months in jail which was suspended and she was placed on unsupervised probation for one year. She was ordered to seek treatment for six months and be monitored at that time. She had two counts of attempt to commit a felony dismissed.
* Tyler Joseph Soule, 508 Walnut St., Belpre, had a charge of battery dismissed without prejudice as the jury was not called out due to technical issues. The alleged victim was frustrated, said to dismiss the case and walked out.
