Wood Sheriff

PARKERSBURG – The Wood County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Dec. 25:

* On Dec. 21, a deputy responded to the Magnuson Hotel located on Hospitality Lane in Mineral Wells in reference to a larceny from a soda machine inside the hotel. The owner of the hotel advised that the machine had been broken into with the money taken. The owner stated that about $150-$200 dollars was taken from the machine. At this time the investigation is ongoing.

* On Dec. 22, a citation was issued to Aaron R. Springer, 28, of Ireland Road, Coolville, Ohio, for failure to yield.

* On Dec. 22, a deputy observed a vehicle fail to stop when entering the roadway from Pifers Service Center and then observed the vehicle to enter Interstate 77 northbound, at this time it was observed to be traveling in the right lane and was observed to drift to the left and then back over to the right crossing the fog line. The driver provided a Pennsylvania state operators, however, the passenger was unable to provide any form of ID. The deputy requested a trooper to respond with the mobile fingerprint machine to attempt to validate the passenger identification. The scan was complete and the passenger ID came back not the same as the one given by the passenger. Kelechi Nathan Ejiogu II, 37, of North Willington Street, Philadelphia, Pa., was arrested on charges of obstructing and transported to the Wood County Holding Center. While en-route the subject stated that he did lie about his name due to the fact that he is currently wanted out of Pennsylvania, however they will not extradite from another state.

* On Dec. 22, deputies responded to Laverne Street in reference to serving felony warrant on a subject. Wayne Owens Jr., 29, of Laverne Street, Parkersburg, was taken into custody, processed and confined to the holding center.

* On Dec. 23, while a deputy was traveling south on Rosemar Road he observed a subject standing outside his vehicle urinating in the parking lot of the Fellowship Baptist Church parking lot. The deputy made contact with the subject and observed a chrome marijuana smoking bowl laying on the console of the vehicle. The deputy then checked the inside of the vehicle and located approximately two grams of marijuana inside the glove box. A citation was issued to Larry Michael Snider, 32, of Williams Highway, Vienna, for possession of marijuana.

* On Dec. 23, a deputy responded to DuPont Road in reference to a possible intoxicated driver. A passing motorist alerted central dispatch that the vehicle had driven into a ditch across from Tebay Dairy. The deputy observed the individual leaning into the vehicle and at this time he shut the door and started walking down the street. The subject ignored directives from the deputy and kept walking away. The deputy ran after the subject who resisted and had to be restrained and walked back to the vehicle. The deputy observed an unmarked prescription bottle inside the vehicle with at least three different types of medication located. Upon speaking to the subject, the deputy observed the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. Aaron Matthew Ewing, 34, of Larkmead Road, Parkersburg, was taken into custody for driving under the influence third offense.

* On Dec. 23, Ashley Wilkison, 31, of Seventh Street, Parkesburg, had appeared at the Wood County Magistrate Court for a trial at which time she was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest. After her plea in magistrate court, she was placed under arrest for the warrant for expired registration, no insurance and shoplifting. She was taken before a magistrate for arraignment and released on a $1,500 bond.

* On Dec. 23, an anonymous caller advised that a subject with active warrants was at a residence in Williamstown. The deputy responded with an officer from Vienna to the residence at which time the father gave consent to search the residence and the subject was located in the back of the residence hiding under a large desk. William Patrick George, 21, of 12th Street, Vienna, was taken into custody on a warrant for petit larceny.

* On Dec. 23, deputies responded to Williamstown Pike in reference to a domestic altercation between stepfather and adult son. The stepfather and mother stated the suspect was mad because she had entered and cleaned his room at which time he approached her with a threatening manner causing the stepfather to step between them. At this time a juvenile entered the room and the suspect yelled at her, causing the stepfather to shove the suspect out of the bedroom to separate the suspect from the juvenile, the suspect began to swing his fists striking the stepfather several times. Larry Francis Bills, 20, of Williamstown Pike, was arrested on charges for domestic battery and domestic assault. He was transported to the Wood County Holding Center for processing then arraigned before a magistrate and posted bond for $1,500.

* On Dec. 23, deputies responded to Conger Road in reference to a burglary that had already occurred. Harold Starr advised that someone had entered his residence and removed cash and change from the residence with nothing else being taken. At this time there are no suspects and the investigation is ongoing.

* On Dec. 24, deputies returned to Williamstown Pike, in reference to person who had previously been arrested for domestic battery. A condition of his bond was that he not return to the residence. Apparently the subject had returned to the residence and, had grabbed a small handgun. A male inside the residence was able to calm the subject down and took the gun from him. Larry Francis Bills, 20, of Williamstown Pike, was again taken into custody on charges of bail violation.

* On Dec. 24, a deputy observed a vehicle northbound on I-77 traveling at slow rate of speed. The deputy paced the vehicle at 30 mph at which time a traffic stop was conducted with the vehicle staying in the right lane of travel and to jerk very suddenly. The deputy approached the vehicle and observed the driver attempting to slide into the passenger seat. The driver already had the driver side window rolled down and one leg still in the left side of the vehicle with the shoe on the left foot of the driver stuck on the gear shift. The subject stated he was not the driver and stated when asked did not know who was driving. The deputy while speaking with the subject also smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the vehicle. Thomas Patrick Coakley, 44, of Wells Lock Road, Elizabeth, was taken into custody on a charge of DUI third offense.

Wood Sheriff

PARKERSBURG – The Wood County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges on Dec. 22.

* On Dec. 18, a citation was issued to Christopher Gerald Kemper, 43, of Avery Street, for driving on suspended license.

* On Dec. 18, a citation was issued to Byron Leeroy Clayton II, 28, of 22nd Street, for speeding 79 in a 70 mph zone.

* On Dec. 18, a citation was issued to Evan Jerome Benson, 18, of Miller Avenue, Marietta, for speeding 54 in a 45 mph zone.

* On Dec. 18, a citation was issued to Alyssa Kayana Holland, 20, of State Street, for speeding 85 in a 70 mph zone.

* On Dec. 19, a citation was issued to Rosa Gay Hutson, 32, of Progress Ridge Road, for no child restraint.

* On Dec. 19, deputies responded to 15th Avenue in Vienna in reference to a battery that had occurred at the Lakeview Shopping Center. The victim stated that while she and her boyfriend were in the vehicle he had made several threats to her and struck her in the face several times. Deputy observed what appeared to be a bruise forming on her left cheek and a knot on her forehead. Alphonso Lesean Johnson, 24, of 15th Avenue was arrested on charges of domestic battery and domestic assault.

* On Dec. 19, a citation was issued to Paliadin D. Ziegler, 32, of Parkville Apartments, for driving on suspended license.

* On Dec. 19, Jacob Matthew Williams, 18, of 28th Street, Vienna, turned himself in on an active warrant for battery. He was processed, arraigned before a magistrate and confined pending a $1,000 bond.

* On Dec. 19, a citation was issued to Ira M. Wayland, 74, of TR 521, Big Prairie, Ohio, for improper display of registration.

* On Dec. 19, a citation was issued to Ryan Tyler Morris, 20, of Hazelwood Road, Marietta, for speeding 91 in a 70 mph zone and failure to change address on license.

* On Dec. 19, deputies responded to Powell Drive in reference to a domestic battery. The victim stated she and the suspect began to argue at which time the suspect grabbed her by the throat choking her and shoving her against a towel rack in the upstairs bathroom. Deputy observed red marks on the victim’s neck. At this time deputy responded to Latrobe Street with assistance from Parkersburg Police Department to take the suspect into custody. Zachary Ryan Stoneking, 20, of Powell Drive was arrested on charges of domestic battery and domestic assault. He was taken to the Wood County Holding Center where he was processed and then arraigned before a magistrate and released on a $1,000 surety bond. He was also served with a domestic violence protective order.

* On Dec. 19, a deputy received a call in reference to a vehicle that had sideswiped a vehicle on Tally Ho Road and then left the scene, a license plate number had also been given. Deputy located the vehicle and observed the damage and attempted to make a traffic stop, at which time the vehicle continued on I-77 until finally pulling off before the Camden Avenue exit. A state trooper arrived to assist and both he and deputy made contact with the driver. The driver was advised to pull his vehicle farther to the right to be out of the exit lane. Citation issued to Edward Freeman Smarr, 67, of Maple Street, Mineral Wells, for leaving the scene and no insurance.

* On Dec. 19, a citation was issued to Bridgett L. Burke, 40, of Island View Drive for driving on suspended license.

* On Dec. 19, a deputy was flagged down and advised of a suspicious subject wandering around the back of the Grace Baptist Church at the intersection of Rosemar Road and Emerson Avenue and at the Speedway across the street. The subject had the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Citation was issued to David Joseph Gavin, 22, of Rosemar Road for public intoxication and given a ride to his parents home and released to his father.

* On Dec. 20, a deputy responded to Meadowview Drive in Brierwood in reference to a vehicle sitting in the middle of the roadway with a female asleep behind the wheel. Deputy observed the vehicle was running with headlights on, the brake lights were illuminated and the driver was still in the driver’s seat. Deputy upon approaching the vehicle observed the female had her foot on the brake, the vehicle being in drive and her hand on the gear shifter. After knocking several times on the windows the driver woke up, at which time deputy gave a verbal command to put the vehicle in park and shut it off. The driver appeared dazed and confused, while she proceeded to drift forward a few feet. Initially the driver refused to unlock the door, then unlocked the door. Deputy at this time was able to reach inside and place the vehicle in park and removed the key. The driver refused to exit the vehicle and had to be extricated by the deputies. During contact, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was coming from her breath. Emily F. Coyne-Davis, 53, of Meadowview Drive, was taken into custody on a charge of aggravated DUI. She was taken to the Wood County Holding Center for processing and confined to await arraignment.

* On Dec. 20, a traffic stop was conducted on vehicle after a deputy observed the brake light not working properly. At this time another deputy arrived and observed an orange colored marijuana smoking bowl lying in the rear floorboard behind the driver’s seat. The suspect was asked if he had any marijuana on his person; he replied no. Deputy advised due to the marijuana bowl lying in plain view a K-9 was enroute. The suspect then stated he had some weed in his back pocket at which time he reached into his pocket and pulled out a clear baggy with approximately 15 grams of marijuana inside. Joshua Aaron Naylor, 22, of Fern Street was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana.

* On Dec. 20, a deputy was dispatched to Lost Pavement Road in reference to a possible location of stolen Chevy S10 from Putnam County. Deputy observed the vehicle on a trailer in front of the residence and observed the VIN of the vehicle to match that of the one stolen from Putnam County. The resident stated that he had purchased the vehicle from another subject. Putnam County provided information that both suspects could be at an address on Ruby Drive in Davisville. A trooper responded and made contact with one male in front of the residence with another subject attempting to run toward the rear of the residence. Warrants were faxed to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office from Putnam County for Brent Douglas Hale, 34, of Falls Branch Road, Lavalette W.Va., and Joshua Brandon Adkins, 28, of Fourth Avenue, Parkersburg, for robbery in the first degree and grand larceny. Joshua Adkins was also charged with an active warrant for failure to appear out of circuit court.

* On Dec. 20, a citation was issued to Felicia A. Zertman, 22, of Riverside Lane, Marietta, for driving on suspended license and expired registration.

* On Dec. 21, Zachery Ryan Ferguson, 19, of Boaz Garden Drive, Williamstown, was arrested on outstanding warrants issued out of Vienna Police Department for possession of controlled substance x2.

* On Dec. 21, deputies responded to Chateau Hills in reference to a domestic disturbance in progress where one person was said to have sustained injuries from a blade during the altercation. The victim was observed to be visibly shaken and had obvious injuries to her body. She advised that she and the suspect had been in an argument and refused her to leave and during this time he intentionally physically harmed her and cut her with a pocket knife. She advised that she had been screaming for help while inside the apartment for some time and wishing that someone would call the police. She advised that she was eventually able to escape and ran to another apartment where the neighbor brought her inside and called for help. Permission was granted for deputies to enter the apartment; however, the suspect was not located. The female gave an address where he might be at which time deputies went to the residence and located the suspect. Hank Allan Wells, 27, of Chateau Hills was taken into custody for charges of domestic battery and unlawful restraint; he was escorted to the holding center for processing and taken before a magistrate for arraignment. He was released on a $2,500 surety bond.

* On Dec. 21, a citation was issued to Jeremy G. Merrill, 33, of 14th Avenue for no insurance and failure to transfer address on license.

Wood Sheriff

PARKERSBURG – The Wood County Sheriff’s Department released the following reports on Dec. 18:

* On Dec. 17, Richard Ray Carpenter, 40, of Westwood Way, Washington, W.Va., turned himself in on a felony warrant for embezzlement. He was processed, arraigned before a Magistrate and confined on a $10,000 bond.

* On Dec.17, a deputy responded to Woodberry Lane for a tractor trailer in a ditch. The driver, David Gain of West Union, advised he lost air compression while going up the hill and attempted to get the tractor trailer out of the roadway. A repair crew responded and fixed the airline, however due to the incline the driver was unable to get the tractor trailer to move and a tow truck responded to assist.

* On Dec. 17, a citation was issued to Thaddeus S. Piggott, 20, of Joy Street for speeding 55 in a 35 mph zone.

Wood Sheriff

PARKERSBURG – The Wood County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Dec. 15:

* On Dec. 11, a citation was issued to James Thomas Valentine, 48, of Lincoln Avenue, Parkersburg, for no operators and no insurance.

* On Dec. 12, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle after the deputy observed the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Upon contact with the driver, the deputy immediately smelled the odor of marijuana and asked both the driver and passenger if they had been smoking. The passenger admitted to smoking marijuana and having marijuana in his pocket. A citation was issued to the driver, Thomas James Smith, 31 of Industry Street, Powhatan Point, Ohio, for speeding, 95 mph in a 70 mph zone, and a citation was issued to passenger, Jamaal Joseph Bacote, 33, of Main Street, Wheeling, W.Va., on a charge of possession for less than 15 grams of marijuana.

* On Dec. 13, a citation was issued to David Leon Rowell Jr., 21, of Bluff Road, Marion, S.C., for passing in no passing zone.

* On Dec. 13, deputies were dispatched to Community of Christ Church located on Staunton Turnpike in reference to a disorderly motorist doing donuts in the church parking lot. Deputies were then notified that the vehicle had just went over the embankment becoming stuck and a truck was there attempting to pull it out. A deputy observed two subjects standing by the truck at which time one subject began running down the hill. The male continued to flee after being ordered to stop. The male was taken to the ground and handcuffed. The male was found to have a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. Nicholas Cody Wilcox, 21, of Capital Circle, Parkersburg, was arrested on charges of public intoxication and eluding. Chad Avery Russell, 20, of Saint Marys Avenue, Parkersburg, was arrested on charges of public intoxication and underage consumption. Both were transported to the Wood County Holding Center where they were processed and placed and then arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court. Russell was released on $600.00 bond and Wilcox was being held on $1,500.

* On Dec. 13, deputies were dispatched to Progress Ridge Road in reference to a domestic disturbance. The victim stated he was in an argument with his son over a tire that had been cut and flattened. The deputy found the son to be uncooperative during the investigation and was unable to locate anyone willing to take custody of him in his intoxicated condition. Jeremy Lee Nutter, 25, of Progress Ridge Road, Parkersburg, was arrested on a charge of second-offense public intoxication and was confined pending arraignment.

* On Dec. 13, a deputy was dispatched to Lake Washington Road in reference to a possible intoxicated driver stuck in a ditch. The deputy located the driver outside the vehicle and advised that he was driving not paying attention and ran off the roadway. The deputy while speaking with the subject detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. Ryan A. Snyder, 37, of Washington Gardens Circle, Washington, W.Va., was transported to the Holding Center where he was processed and released on a citation for DUI and released to his mother in lieu of medical clearance for confinement.

* On Dec. 14, a citation was issued to Hannah N. Goldsmith, 23, of 32nd Street, Parkersburg, for a seat belt violation.

* On Dec. 14, a citation was issued to Kristina Marie Davis, 43, of Pahlhurst Plaza, Parkersburg, for expired registration and no insurance.

* On Dec. 14, a citation was issued to Christopher M. Wolfe, 37, of 40th Street, for improper registration and no insurance.

* On Dec. 14, a deputy responded to Kohl’s Department Store in reference to a shoplifter in custody. Loss Prevention had detained a male subject attempting to leave the store with two toboggans inside of his backpack. A citation was issued to a 17-year-old male of Parkersburg for shoplifting and he was released to his grandmother.

* On Dec. 14, a citation was issued to Melissa Jill McCrady-Gordon, 47, of South Lake Drive, Parkersburg, for speeding, 44 mph in a 35 mph zone.

* On Dec. 14, deputies responded to the area of Ross Road and Emerson Avenue in reference to a possible vehicle crash. The caller advised that a red Chevy Tahoe appeared to have been involved in a crash and no one was around the vehicle. Deputies arrived and located the vehicle lying on its side with substantial damage to the entire vehicle. Deputies observed a path with skid marks beginning in front of the Waverly Volunteer Fire Station and going off the roadway and striking no less than three ditches and at least one culvert before flipping and striking a parked utility trailer on Emerson Avenue. It came to rest on its driver side against some metal frames. A check through Central Dispatch showed the owner registered to a subject with a St. Marys address. At that time, a Natural Resources Officer had stopped to assist and advised he was familiar and would go to St. Marys and bring him back to the scene. Citations were issued to Stephen Raynor Kester, 29, of Washington Street, Saint Marys, for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to maintain control and failure to report an accident.

Wood Sheriff

PARKERSBURG – The Wood County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Dec. 10.

* On Dec. 9, Jason Allen Lauderman, 26, of Park Avenue, Williamstown, was taken before a magistrate on charges of shoplifting, petit larceny and joyriding; bond was set by the magistrate at $13,000, at which time Lauderman advised he did not wish to post bond due to a sentencing hearing coming up at a later date for other charges. Upon the deputy returning him to the holding center, officials were notified by Washington County Sheriff’s Office they were faxing two felony warrants for Lauderman and would extradite on these; he was then taken back to a magistrate to be arraigned on these warrants and the fugitive complaint and advised he did wish to have an extradition hearing. He was then transported to North Central Regional Jail.

* On Dec. 9, a deputy responded to Kohl’s Department Store in reference to a shoplifter that loss prevention had in custody. Loss prevention said the subject had entered the store without any items at which time he went to the men’s section, got a Nike hoodie and a pair of Levi jeans, ripped the tags off and went to customer service to exchange the items for which he had not purchased. He then returned and got a different Nike hoodie and two pairs of Levi jeans and completed the exchange at customer service, and then left passing all final points of sale without paying for any of the items. He was stopped by loss prevention. A citation was issued to Brett Michael McClain, 21, of Ohio 124, Hockingport, Ohio, for shoplifting.

* On Dec. 9, a deputy was notified by home confinement about a subject that had escaped house arrest. Criminal complaint filed for Amanda Rae Wilson, 27, of Spring Street for escape of one charged with a felony.

* On Dec. 9, a citation was issued to Jaala Danielle Smith, 24, of Fritz Circle, Fairmont, for expired registration.

Wood Sheriff

PARKERSBURG – The Wood County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges Dec. 8:

* On Dec. 4, a citation was issued to Irene Nikol Ballengee, 34, of Neal Street, Parkersburg, for speeding in the Kanawha School zone, 31 mph in a 15 mph zone.

* On Dec. 5, a deputy was advised of a subject at the Wood County Justice Center with active warrants. Justin Alan Hofmeister, 28, of Burke Street, Parkersburg, was arrested on a felony indictment warrant from the Parkersburg Police Department and an active warrant out of Wood County Family Court. He was served the warrants and re-confined.

* On Dec. 5, a deputy responded to Chateau Hills in reference to a destruction of property. Ashton Paugh advised that while her vehicle was parked in the parking lot someone used a large concrete slab to smash her windshield. She further advised that her vehicle was also keyed. The deputy observed the damage to the vehicle, but there are no suspects.

* On Dec. 5, a deputy while traveling south on Interstate 77 observed a male walking along the southbound lanes of travel. The deputy made contact with the male subject. A check through Central Dispatch showed an active warrant issued through Kanawha County. Leonard Ray Smith, 56, of MacCorkle Avenue, Saint Albans, was taken into custody for the capias warrant for shoplifting and public intoxication. He was transported to the Wood County Holding Center and then taken before Wood County Magistrate Court for his arraignment, where he was re-confined after failing to post a $250 cash bond.

* On Dec. 5, Brian Smith Church, 36, of Poplar Street, Belpre, turned himself in at the Wood County Sheriff’s Office on an outstanding warrant for violation of a domestic violence protective order. He was taken before a magistrate where he was arraigned and released on a personal recognizance bond.

* On Dec. 5, a citation was issued to James J. Barrett, 43, of Layman Road, Vincent, for no proof of insurance.

* On Dec. 5, a citation was issued to John Quincy Dickson, 43, of 29th Street, Parkersburg, for red light violation and no insurance.

* On Dec. 5, a citation was issued to Trent M. Crimeans, 21, of Leonard Avenue, Belpre, for no insurance and improper registration.

* On Dec. 6, a citation was issued to Jon Paul Smith, 49, of Seventh Avenue, Parkersburg, for speeding, 80 mph in a 70 mph zone, after a deputy had observed the vehicle improperly enter onto I-77 from U.S. 50 and was observed driving above the posted speed limit and much greater than what was reasonable for the roadway conditions.

* On Dec. 6, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle and upon contact with the driver he was only able to produce a West Virginia State Non-Driver ID card. Hank Allan Wells, 27, of 17th Street, Parkersburg, was arrested on a charge of second-offense driving under suspension.

* On Dec. 6, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle after a deputy observed a truck towing an unlicensed vehicle with a tow chain. Upon making contact, the deputy noticed the odor of burned marijuana. Citations were issued to Jessie Alton Coulter, 26, of Red Peak Circle and Jessica Lynn Mills, 33, of Wadesville Road for possession of less than 15 grams of a controlled substance.

* On Dec. 7, a deputy responded to Meadowbrook Acres in reference to an auto breaking and entering. The complainant Andrew Wright reported that someone broke into his vehicle and removed two lanterns, a DVD burner and cash. There are no suspects.

* On Dec. 7, deputies were dispatched to Emerson Avenue near the Centerfold Lounge in reference to a single-vehicle accident. Apparently the vehicle was northbound on West Virginia 68 when it went onto the north berm striking the guardrail and taking out six posts and approximately 30 feet of guardrail. The vehicle then re-entered the roadway and came to rest in the middle of the road. A deputy made contact with the driver and brought her to his cruiser to administer a PBT, as she was having issues standing up without leaning on a stopped vehicle and had to catch herself or be caught by the deputy multiple times to prevent her from falling. A citation was issued to Ashley Edell Burns, 29, of Valley Mills Drive, for aggravated DUI and she was released to the custody of her husband and father in law.

* On Dec. 7, a deputy responded to Lake Washington Road in reference to a suspicious vehicle. The deputy arrived and located the vehicle which had crashed into the ditch. The driver advised that she ran into the ditch while trying to turn around, and the deputy while speaking with her observed her to smell of an alcoholic beverage. Courtney Dawn Earl, 27, of Ashcraft Addition Road, Wallace, W.Va., was arrested on a charge of DUI and was transported to the Wood County Holding Center for processing.

* On Dec. 7, a citation was issued to Lisa D. Jett, 46, of Millbranch Road, Belpre, for speeding, 64 mph in a 55 mph zone.

* On Dec. 7, a citation was issued to Melissa Kay Haynes, 41, of Kellar Lane, Williamstown, for speeding, 50 mph in a 40 mph zone.

* On Dec. 7, a citation was issued to Charles Wayne Loy, 40, of Grandview Avenue, New Matamoras, for driving under suspension.

* On Dec. 7, a deputy was flagged down by a complainant while on patrol on Fort Boreman Hill who stated that the street lamps for the park along Fort Boreman Drive had been vandalized and that glass was lying in the roadway from the damage. The deputy observed that five glass globes to the lights had been damaged and it appears that the damage was caused intentionally. No other damage to the park area was observed and it is unknown when the damage had occurred. The investigation is ongoing.

* On Dec. 8, deputies responded to Progress Ridge Road in reference to a breaking and entering that had already occurred. The complainant, Carrie West, advised that someone had entered the residence and removed several items including a necklace and $20 in loose change. The owner of the property, Mary Williams, who was also on scene, advised that a riding lawn mower had also been taken from the garage. Deputies checked the residence and garage for forced entry and found no signs of any forced entry. At this time investigation is ongoing.

* On Dec. 8, Stephanie Ann DeBerry, 33, of East Maple Street, Davisville turned herself in on active warrants. One warrant originated from an accident occurring in November for driving on suspended license; the other warrant was for a worthless check.

* On Dec. 8, a deputy responded to Judge Reed’s Court in reference to a subject having an active warrant. Charles Brian Davis, 39, of 39th Street, Vienna was served a warrant issued through Roane County. He was taken before a magistrate and notified that bond had been rescinded and was sent to regional jail.

Wood Sheriff

PARKERSBURG – The Wood County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Dec. 4.

* On Dec. 3, a deputy was southbound on Interstate 77 near the West Virginia 31 underpass when he observed a vehicle ahead of him passing cars at a high rate of speed. The deputy caught up with the vehicle just north of U.S. 50. The passenger in the vehicle threw an item out of the passenger window which then bounced off the hood of the cruiser hood and windshield. A traffic stop was initiated. Citations were issued to a 17-year-old male of Doolin Drive, Williamstown, for speeding 85 in a 70 and to a 16-year-old male of Doolin Drive, Williamstown, for littering.

* On Dec. 3, Andrew Robert Ryan, 24, of 12th Avenue turned himself in on warrants for driving on suspended, no insurance, leaving the scene, failure to report and speeding. He was processed and arraigned before a magistrate and released on bond.

* On Dec. 3, Paul Michael Harton, 34, of Berkley Drive turned himself in on a warrant. He was processed, arraigned before a magistrate and released after pleading guilty on the originating traffic complaint.

* On Dec. 3, Erika Leigh Burke, 40, of George Street was arrested on a warrant from Kanawha County on charges of violation of probation.

* On Dec. 3, a citation was issued to Jo Anna Holley, 47, of Lexington Park Drive for driving on suspended license and a warning citation was issued for expired registration and no proof of insurance.

* On Dec. 3, a traffic stop was conducted on vehicle on Camden Avenue after a deputy observed a vehicle without a headlight. The driver was unable to produce a registration card or insurance card. A check of her driver license showed suspended. A citation was issued to Tammara Kay Briggs, 26, of Scarce Fat Road, Mineral Wells, for driving on suspended license and no proof insurance.

Wood Sheriff

PARKERSBURG – The Wood County Sheriff’s Department released the following reports and charges on Dec. 3:

* On Dec. 1, deputies served a warrant on Larry Gene Munday Jr., 50, River Hill Road, Washington, W.Va., at his residence. He was taken into custody and confined at the holding center for charges of domestic assault second-offense. While at the holding center he was also served with a domestic violence protective order.

* On Dec. 1, a deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Murdoch Avenue after the deputy observed the registration lights not working properly. Upon contact with the driver a local check showed an active suspension. Citation was issued to Shawn Micheal Winstanley, 27, of Wyatt Lane, Belpre, for driving on suspended license. Vehicle was towed due to the driver nor the passenger having a valid driver’s license.

* On Dec. 1, a citation was issued to Jackie Wayne Calvert, 52, of Amma Road, Amma, W.Va., for speeding 79 in a 70 mph zone.

* On Dec. 2, deputies responded to Winding Road in reference to a single-vehicle crash. The driver reportedly swerved to miss a deer and ran into the ditch. Citation issued to Joshua Aurther Goodwin, 22, of 36th Street for expired MVI and no proof of insurance.

* On Dec. 2, a deputy responded to Abbey Village in reference to a possible domestic situation. Upon arrival deputies found an extremely intoxicated woman sitting in the road on Forest Drive near Sherwood Drive. A citation was issued to Tresa M. Simmons, 44, of 13th Street for public intoxication; her father was called and responded to take custody of her.

* On Dec. 2, a citation was issued to Jessica Ann Vanway, 44, of Long Run Road, Waverly, for no insurance.

* On Dec. 2, Adam Miller, 22, of Oak Grove Road, Walker, and Kandy Kay Meyer, 23 of Lake Washington Road, turned themselves in on warrants. Meyer’s warrant was issued for no proof of insurance and she was processed, arraigned and released on $500 personal recognizance bond. Adam Michael Miller was served a capias for failure to appear, arraigned, posted bond and was released.

* On Dec. 2, a deputy responded to Scarce Fat Road for a vehicle accident. The driver, Dempsey Shaffer of Hollow Ridge Road, advised he was southbound on Scarce Fat Road when another vehicle going the opposite direction went left of center causing him to swerve right, at which time his vehicle went into the ditch and hit a telephone pole at a driveway on Scarce Fat Road, snapping it in half and causing the line to hang over the roadway. The other vehicle was not located at the time.

* On Dec. 2, a deputy spoke with Stephanie Neely of Granada Circle in Waverly in reference to items being taken from her vehicle while it was parked inside her garage. Neely stated the garage door was open and when she went to leave for work she observed that her purse had been taken from the vehicle that had been left inside the car. Several items were taken, including the purse, credit cards, driver’s license, cash and receipts for work.
