PARKERSBURG -- The following cases were handled in Wood County Magistrate Court on Feb. 12:
* Brittney Michelle Wilson, 512 Highland Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to petit larceny, fined $376.48 and sentenced to one year in jail which was suspended and she was placed on two years of unsupervised probation with a credit of 10 days for time served. She had a charge of forging dismissed. She also pleaded guilty to shoplifting and fined $201.48. She was ordered to pay a $139.48 civil penalty to the Walmart store in Vienna.
* Randy Lloyd Brant, 2245 Highway 48 North, Dickson, Tenn., had a preliminary hearing waived on a charge of fleeing. The case was sent to Wood County Circuit Court.
* Cortney Renee Thomas, 1444 Jesterville Road, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to possession and fined $201.48.
* Charles Edward Collins, 467 Gates Ridge Rd., Rockport, had a charge dismissed of dogs chasing deer. The officer no longer wants to prosecute.
* Joshua Adam Dowler, 907 Erie St., Parkersburg, had a preliminary hearing waived on a charge of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. The case was sent to Wood County Circuit Court. He had charges of driving on a suspended license, failure to maintain vehicle insurance, obstruction, possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription, improper registration and having an unsafe/improperly equipped vehicle dismissed. The defendant will enter into a felony plea in Wood County Circuit Court.
* Dorian Ray Tyler Ruggles, 1701 Franklin Ave. Apt. 101, Huntington, was arraigned on a charge of escape from custody and held on $10,000 bond.
* David Edward Britton, 2100 17th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of possession with intent to deliver and released on $5,000 bond.
* Shawn Allen Estep, 4053 Elizabeth Pike, Mineral Wells, was arraigned on a charge of violation of a protection order and released on $2,000 bond.
* Joshua Steven Wherry, 4218 Sam Creek Road, Mineral Wells, was arraigned on charges of possession of a controlled substance and having no insurance and released on $2,000 bond.
* Aaron Matthew Powell, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of domestic battery and released on $1,000 bond.
* Mark Andrew Davis, 910 Penn Ave., Pennsboro, pleaded guilty to illegal use of a cell phone and fined $100.
* Caitlyn Danielle Boggess, 515 TraceFork Road, Sandyville, pleaded guilty to speeding and fined $196.48. A charge of operating a vehicle without registration was dismissed after it was presented to the court.
* Frankie Ray Rouse, Parkersburg, pleaded no contest to shoplifting and fined $191.48. He was ordered to pay a $186.90 civil penalty to the CVS store on Grand Central Avenue in Vienna.
* Mason K. Day, 45330 Jenkins Road 2, Franklinton, La., pleaded guilty to failure to obey a traffic control device and fined $181.48.
* Robert Lee Burris, Parkersburg, had a charge of domestic battery dismissed without prejudice. He had three counts of domestic assault dismissed without prejudice after the alleged victim failed to appear in court.
* Shawn Marshall Owens, 1341¢ Lynn St., Parkersburg, had a charge of battery dismissed.
* Brandis Lee Morehead, 20 Granda Dr., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to possessing a controlled substance without a valid prescription and fined $186.48. Another charge of possessing a controlled substance without a valid prescription was dismissed, per a plea agreement.
