PARKERSBURG -- The Wood County Sheriff's Office released the following reports April 4:
* Between March 31 and April 3, deputies answered 184 calls including: 22 traffic stops; 23 speak to complainant by phone and in person; five domestic calls and domestic protective orders served; 10 traffic accidents; five mental hygiene order/pick up /transport; two suspicious person/vehicle – disorderly subject/vehicle; six assist agency/assist motorist/assist subject; and eight residence/business/area check.
March 31
* A deputy responded to I-77 mm 176 in reference to a vehicle accident. The driver was driving southbound on I-77 and hydroplaned went off the right side of the road and into a hillside, damage to the front end of the vehicle and the airbags deployed. No injuries were reported.
* Tammy Annette Bunting, 51, of Bunting Lane, was arrested on a charge of DUI. She was transported to the Holding Center for processing.
* A deputy responded to Robert Byrd Highway in reference to a vehicle accident involving a deer. The driver stated that he was traveling westbound when he struck the deer. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was towed.
April 1
* A deputy responded to I-77 northbound in reference to a single vehicle accident. The driver stated she was driving northbound in the far right lane when she hit a patch of water on the road from the recent heavy rain shower and crossed over into the left lane, then entered the median where the vehicle came to rest. A citation was issued Sara Kay Burdette, 42, of Stockton Street, Charleston, for driving on suspended/revoked.
* A deputy responded to Saddle Lane in reference to a larceny that had already occurred. The complainant reported that one of the windows had been busted out of the barn where it was then entered and numerous tools had been taken. At this time investigation is ongoing.
* A deputy was notified by a passerby that a truck was on its side in front of the Mineral Wells Elementary School. A female was inside the truck unable to get out, however fire personnel arrived and she was assisted out of the truck. The driver stated she was attempting to use the talk/text feature on her Apple Watch while driving and began to exit the roadway, she then pulled the steering wheel over to the left and it caused the vehicle to lose control. It spun 180 degrees across the roadway and the passenger side struck a guide wire supporting the utility pole causing the vehicle to flip over onto the driver side. The driver refused transport and a crash report was taken.
* A deputy while slowing traffic down on Elizabeth Pike due to a traffic accident observed a vehicle coming at him at a high rate of speed, the deputy pressed his body against his cruiser to avoid being pinned by the vehicle and was struck in the left arm by the vehicle passenger side mirror with the vehicle continuing down the road, the deputy entered his cruiser and attempted to get the vehicle stopped and eventually it pulled into the Mineral Wells Veterinary Clinic parking lot. Levi Todd Pahl, 19, of Meadow Drive, Mineral Wells, was arrested on charges of DUI, underage consumption, assault of a police officer and expired registration.
April 2
* Autumn Leigh Ansell, 21, of Southern Pine Lane, Washington, W.Va., was arrested on charges of driving on suspended, bribery and obstructing.
* Deputies responded to Staunton Turnpike in reference to an unconscious female and then advised that the female was not unconscious but possibly "huffing" air duster. Deputies observed the female with other air duster cans near her and one being on her lap. Monica Lee Hicks, 54, of Coolidge Street, was issued a citation for inhaling intoxicating compound. She was transported to another residence to be with a sober party.
* Matthew Allen Enoch, 40, of Locust Drive, turned himself in on warrants for seven worthless checks and a family court capias. He was processed and placed pending his arraignment.
April 3
* A citation was issued to Kayla Mae Tucker, 34, of Meadowbrook Acres, for two charges of no child safety device.
* Deputies responded to Church Street in reference to a felony warrant service. Austin Wayne Davis, 26, of Davis Lane, was arrested on a warrant for wanton endangerment. He was transported to the Holding Center for processing, then taken before a magistrate and re-confined.
* Deputies responded to Arbor Lane in reference to a warrant service. Sherry Ann Bonson, 57, of Arbor Lane, was taken into custody on a warrant for expired registration and no insurance. She was taken to the Holding Center for processing, arraigned before a magistrate and then released.
