Wood Magistrate
PARKERSBURG — The following cases were handled in Wood County Magistrate Court Feb. 27:
* Kayla A. Smith, Satsuma, Fla., pleaded guilty to speed limitations and fined $175.25.
* Cody Allen Burns, 2609 Dutch Central Road, Rockport, pleaded guilty to having no proof of insurance and driving on a suspended license and fined $640.50.
* Thomas Albert DeMinico, 3872 Egret Drive, Akron, pleaded guilty to speed limitations and fined $175.25.
* Devin Kyle Cottrill, 309 West Main St., Glenville, pleaded guilty to speed limitations and fined $270.25.
* David Allen Dillon, 2033 Cedar Run Road, Friendly, was arraigned on a charge of shoplifting and released on $500 bond.
* Gary Lee Mallendick II, 1107 17th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of second-offense shoplifting and released on $2,000 bond.
* Thomas Christopher Stoops, Washington, W.Va., was arraigned on charges of domestic battery, assault of a police officer and obstructing an officer and released on $2,500 bond.
* Jimmie Lee Grimes Jr., 1909 36th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of trespassing in a placarded structure and released on $500 bond.
* John Vincent Croft, 1909 36th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of trespassing in a placarded structure and obstruction and released on $500.
* Alicia Ann Whisman, 3608 Camden Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of obstruction, trespassing and second-offense shoplifting and released on $2,000 bond.
* Anthony Bryan Martin, 943 Swann St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to charges of running traffic control devices and driving on a suspended license and fined $445.50. He had charges of defective brake light, improper registration, four counts of having no insurance, two counts of driving on a suspended license and two counts of third-offense driving on a suspended license dismissed, per a plea agreement. He also pleaded guilty to charges of obstruction and possessing a controlled substance without a valid prescription, fined $425.50 and was sentenced to 90 days home confinement and was credited 11 days for time served. He also pleaded guilty to running a stop sign and having no insurance and fined $545.50. Other charges of improper registration and driving on a suspended license were dismissed, per a plea agreement.
* Heather Dawn Lucas, no address given, pleaded guilty to violating a protective order, fined $420.25 and sentenced to six months in jail which was suspended and she was placed on two years of unsupervised probation. Charges of a misdemeanor offense of violating a protective order and disorderly conduct were dismissed, per a plea agreement. She also pleaded guilty to a charge of disrupting court proceedings and fined $180.25. A misdomeanor offense of violating a protective order was dismissed, per a plea agreement.
* Nathan Dale Leggett, Williamstown, had a preliminary hearing waived on a charge of domestic battery. The case was sent to Wood County Circuit Court.
* Shelby Lynn Tucker, 3772 Deerwalk Highway, Waverly, pleaded guiltyto contributing to the delinquency of a minor by someone 18-years-old and older, fined $170.25 and sentenced to 13 months in jail which was suspended and placed on one year of unsupervised probation.
* Joseph David Stewart, 119 Willowbrook Dr. Apt. 4, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to charges of possessing a controlled substance without a valid prescription and having no proof of insurance, fined $560.50 and sentenced to 90 days in jail which was suspended and he was placed on one year of unsupervised probation. He had a charge of having no motorcycle endorsement and another charge of possessing a controlled substance without a valid prescription dismissed, per a plea agreement.
* Dalton Layne Fisher, 476 Angel Ridge Road, Ripley, pleaded guilty to speeding and fined $190.25. A charge of drag racing/reckless driving was dismissed.
* Joseph Lynn Lowther, 115 Cherry St., Harrisville, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance (meth), fined $170.25 and sentenced to 90 days in jail which was suspended and he was placed on six months of unsupervised probation..
* Deborah Renee Hanshaw, 1609 Staunton Turnpike, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to having expired registration and fined $175.25. A charge of having no proof of insurance was dismissed, per a plea agreement.
* Richard Brooks Law II, 3870 Waverly Road, Williamstown, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle in an impaired state, less than .15, fined $345.25 and sentenced to 8 hours in jail. A charge of having no insurance was dismissed.
* Kalianna Marie Williams, 1107 32nd St., Apt. 2, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to two counts of obstruction and fined $230.25.
* Noah William Sweeting, 45 Hailey Heights, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence, fined $475.25 and placed on 60 days home confinement.
* Kevin Michael Holland, 203 2nd Street, Belmont, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle in an impaired state, less than .15, fined $355.25 and sentenced to 15 days in jail with a credit of one day for time served.
* Garrett James Haught, 4766 Walker Road, Walker, pleaded guilty to charges of trespassing and fleeing from an officer, fined $370.50 and sentenced to five days in jail which was suspended and he was placed on six months of unsupervised probation. A charge of contributing to the delinquency of a child by someone 18-years-old or older was dismissed, per a plea agreement.
* Brian Dale Gorsuch, 183 Wildwood Dr. Apt. 103, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and fined $180.25.
* Joseph David Stewart, 119 Willowbrook Dr. Apt. 4, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to possessing a controlled substance without a valid prescription and fined $230.25.
* Carrie Lynn Carlson, 1943 Dutch Ridge Road, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to selling beer to someone under 21 and fined $195.25.
Belpre Police
BELPRE — The Belpre Police Department released the following reports on Feb. 27:
Feb. 17
* Thomas V. Basim, 43, of Belpre, was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on the charge of probation violation.
* Nathan S. Tewkesbury, 38, of Belpre, was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on a criminal trespassing warrant out of Belpre Mayor’s Court and a theft warrant from Marietta Municipal Court.
* Shawn S. McClead, 29, of Belpre, was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on the charge of probation violation.
* Angela M. Moore, 42, of Belpre, was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on the charge of probation violation.
* Joel P. Bartimus, 29, of Stockport, was arrested on the charges of expired registration, expired operator license, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Feb. 18
* Tyson J. Borman, 40, of Belpre, was cited for expired registration.
Feb. 19
* Jennifer R Covrett, 43, of Parkersburg, was cited for driving under suspension.
Feb. 21
* Wayne A. Trembly, 44, of Parkersburg, was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
Feb. 22
* Michael J. Lewis, 33, of Belpre, was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on fail to appear warrants out of Marietta Municipal Court on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, theft, having physical control of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
Feb. 24
* Keenan Wish Malik Mills, 27, of Belpre, was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on the charge of theft.
Williamstown Police
The Williamstown Police Department released the following reports Feb. 28:
Feb. 17
* Robert Harlan Bailey, 64, Marietta, was arrested on a warrant charging him with felony third-offense DUI. Bailey was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court and released on bond.
* Joseph Rice, 27, Washington, W.Va., was cited for speed 43/25 on Highland Avenue.
Feb. 18
* Breyanne Janus, 28, Parkersburg, was cited for speed 43/25 on Highland Avenue.
Feb. 23
* Phillip Ealy, 24, Charleston, was cited for driving on a suspended license and expired registration at the roundabout on Highland Avenue.
Feb. 24
* Kevin Charles Nolan, 55, Marietta, was picked up on a governors warrant at the Washington County jail and transported to the West Virginia Division of Corrections to serve his sentence on a prior conviction of possession with the intent to deliver methamphetamine.
* Andrew McGuffey, 24, Williamstown, was cited for second-offense driving on a suspended license and failure to maintain control of a vehicle following investigation of a three vehicle accident on West Third Street.
* Melissa Jacobsen, 46, Williamstown, was cited for following too closely and no proof of insurance on Highland Avenue.
* Between Feb. 17-27, Officers responded to or issued: 17 traffic warnings; four assist motorist calls; three suspicious persons calls; four complaints by phone; four assist agency; five alarm calls; one accident.
