Circuit Court

PARKERSBURG — Wood County Circuit Court heard the following cases on May 14.

In Judge J.D. Beane’s Court:

* Mark Leslie Lively, 52, in custody, pleaded guilty to driving while revoked for DUI, a third offense, and was sentenced to one to five years at the West Virginia Department of Corrections with credit for 399 days.

* Carl Burner III, 38, in custody for robbery, was given a $200,00 surety bond with the condition of home confinement.

* Scott Hartshorn, 34, in custody, pleaded guilty to an information charge of soliciting to a minor via computer. He had been using an app Meet24, a dating app, to converse with who he believed to be a 14-year-old girl, who was actually an undercover officer, officials said. He will be sentenced on July 19 at 1 p.m.

* Joseph Hutson, 19, in custody, pleaded guilty to kidnapping after allegedly forcing a UPS driver to drive him places while brandishing what the driver believed to be a weapon. He will be sentenced on July 18 at 1:30 p.m.

Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — Wood County Magistrate Court heard the following cases on May 14.

* Deborah Stroehman, 47, 361 Mitchell Lane, Washington, was dismissed on a charge of worthless check and was assessed $160.25 in court costs and fines.

* Edwin Allen Roberts, 60, 413 Eighth St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of failure to register and was released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond.

* Max Eugene Lassiter, 51, 1115 Gillman Ave., Marietta, was arraigned on a charge of failure to register and was being held at the North Central Regional Jail on a $2,500 surety bond.

* Kenneth Golding, 39, Walker, was arraigned on the charges of a second degree domestic battery, battery, driving while suspended and no insurance. He was released on a $1,500 surety bond.

* Colton Poole, 18, 824 Lakeview Drive, Apartment 112-A, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, methamphetamine, and was released on a $1,500 bond.

* Clay Thomas Crosston, 23, 208 View St., Elkins, made a no contest plea to speeding and was assessed $165.25 in court costs and fines.

* Jeremy Harmon, 227 Green St., Marietta, made a no contest plea to speeding and was assessed $165.25 in court costs and fines.

* Jesse Knicely, 24, Spencer, was arraigned on charges of domestic assault and three counts of brandishing; he was released on a $2,000 surety bond.

* Brandon Michael Burdette, 25, 218 Chesterville, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of shoplifting and as part of a plea agreement was dismissed on a charge of obstruction. He was assessed $170.25 in court costs and fines and was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $50 to the victim.

* James Patrick Bruce Jr., 34, 808 Wood St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to charges of no insurance and two counts of driving while suspended or revoked. As part of a plea agreement he was dismissed on the charges of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, two charges of improper registration, operating without certificates, driving while suspended and no insurance. He was assessed $620.50 in court costs and fines.

* Preston Scott Harris, 25, 705 Virgil St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to DUI and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. He was dismissed as part of a plea agreement on a charge of failure to render information; he was assessed $495.50 in court costs and fines.

* Erin Duvall, 20, 1213 Pike St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge a battery and was sentenced to 30 days of unsupervised probation and assessed $160.25 in court costs and fines.

* Aaron Callihan, 41, 2617 27th Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of obstruction and was assessed $160.25 in court costs and fines.

* Patrick Johnson, 33, 823 Stillwell Road, Walker, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession and was sentenced on supervised probation for six months and assessed $160.25 in court costs and fines.

* Tosha Combs, 38, 833 Lynn St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of escape or attempting to escape and was sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation and assessed $160.25 in court costs and fines.

* Joshua Clegg, 24, 2523 Lenore St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of DUI and was sentenced to six months of home confinement and was assessed $335.25 in court costs and fines.

* James Croston, 42, 1016 15th St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of obstruction and was assessed $160.25 in court costs and fines.

* Dakota Heckert, 20, 1334 Broadway Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and shoplifting. He was dismissed on a charge of obstruction as part of a plea agreement and was sentenced to 90 days in the North Central Regional Jail and assessed $320.50 in court costs and fines and was ordered to pay a $50 civil penalty to the victims.

Washington Sheriff

MARIETTA — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports May 13:

* On May 8, Deputy Brown conducted an investigation in Warren Township in reference to possible damage to a home. This case remains under investigation.

* On May 9, Deputy White responded to the Oriana House in reference to possible drugs found at that location. This case remains under investigation.

* On May 10, Sgt. Johnson met with a resident in Muskingum Township in reference to items being removed from a home. This case will be marked as unfounded.

* On May 10, Deputy Young began an investigation in Grandview Township in reference to a stolen firearm. This case remains under investigation.

* On May 10, Deputy Zide was patrolling when he observed a subject driving a Jaguar commit a traffic violation. Deputy Zide was following the individual with the driver continuing to accelerate farther away from him. Deputy Zide attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Once the stop was made, contact was made with the driver, William E. Allberry. Allberry was found to be under an ALS suspension. Deputy Zide noted glassy and bloodshot eyes and Allberry admitted to consuming an alcoholic beverage. Allberry performed poorly on the field sobriety and blew 0.142 percent on a PBT. William Elbert Allberry, 39, 709 W. Eighth Street, Monroe, Mich., was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, driving under OVI suspension and speed. Allberry was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

* On May 12, Det. Sgt. McPeek arrested Terence Patrick Wallis, 57, 105 Coventry Road, Marietta, on three counts of violating a protection order, and one count menacing by stalking. In 2016 a protection order was put in effect against Wallis. Beginning late 2017 and into 2019 the victim(s) continued to see Wallis in places they visited. Wallis has been seen driving past these establishments, making an illegal turn and sticking his head out the window to make sure the victim(s) see him. Wallis would drive by these establishments sometimes circling the block and driving back by. Once while the victim(s) were in town with friend(s) they observed Wallis pass their location, however, the victim(s) were unsure it was Wallis. Upon conducting the investigation, it was revealed that Wallis had, in fact, passed the victim(s) and friend(s). The victim(s) then contacted law enforcement. While conducting surveillance, Wallis was observed parked along the roadway, looking in the driver’s side mirror, in an attempt to view the victim(s) driving past his location, en route to their destination. Wallis then drove in the same direction and drove past the victim(s). Det. Sgt. McPeek was able to conduct a traffic stop on Wallis, advising Wallis of his Miranda Rights. Wallis admitted to knowing the TPO was still in effect and knew the victim(s) would be going to the establishment(s) he was driving past. Located in a bag in the vehicle driven by Wallis were flower petals, jewelry, and several cards and notes addressed to the victim(s).

The following subjects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Friday and Monday:

* Kendall Shane Church, 38, 903 Morgan Avenue, Belpre, Belpre ordinance premises condition, a misdemeanor.

* Daniel Paul Wheeler, 28, homeless, parole violation, a felony.

* Brittany Coleen Eady, 26, 27482 SR 7, Marietta, driving under suspension and fictitious plates, both misdemeanors.

* Donald Wesley Nesselrotte, 42, 2907 Fairview Avenue, Parkersburg, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs and turn/stop sign signal violation, both misdemeanors.

* Brian Michael Prichett, 23, 4445 Zhion Ridge, Marietta, carrying a concealed weapon, a felony.

* John Edward Barry, 43, 300 North Front Street, Wheeling, theft, a felony, and obstructing official business, a misdemeanor.

* Jerran Keith Knowlton, 39, homeless, disrupting public service, a felony, and domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

* Thomas Edward Donahue Jr., 35, 2517 Valley View Drive, Belpre, contempt, failure to appear.

* Terence Patrick Wallis, 57, 105 Coventry Road, Marietta, violating a protection order, three counts, and menacing by stalking, all misdemeanors.

* Rhonda Marie Talafhah, 52, 6800 Baker Road, Athens, illegal conveyance of drugs and possession of drugs, felonies, expired plates, driving while under the influence of alcohol/drugs, driving under suspension, fictitious plates and possession of marijuana, all misdemeanors.

* David Scott Wiggers, 57, 714 Circle Drive, Belpre, driving while under the influence of alcohol/drugs, probation violation and contempt of court, all misdemeanors.

* Derek Douglas Oldfield, 33, 713 Ninth Street, Marietta, contempt of court, driving under suspension, failure to control, breach of recognizance, four counts violation of a protection order, possession drug abuse instruments, domestic violence, two counts menacing, drug paraphernalia, and public indecency, all misdemeanors.

Williamstown Police

The Williamstown Police Department released the following reports on May 13:

* On May 6, Joseph Stratton, 38, Wilmington, Del., was cited for speed 40/25 on Highland Avenue.

* On May 7, Cody Stockner, 23, Williamstown, was cited for no insurance on Victoria Avenue.

* On May 8, Randall Siers. 36, Parkersburg, was cited for expired registration and expired MVI on Highland Avenue.

* On May 9, Anita Betz, 50, Marietta, was cited for speed 60/45 on West Third Street.

* On May 10, Chauncey William Edmonds, 34, Parkersburg, was arrested on a warrant for third-offense driving on a suspended license following a traffic stop on Highland Avenue for a seat belt violation. Edmonds was arraigned at Wood County Magistrate Court and confined to the regional jail in lieu of bail.

* On May 10, Derek Taylor, 26, Wheeling, was cited for speed 40/25 on Highland Avenue.

* On May 10, Jeremiah Hardbarger, 38, Parkersburg, was cited for an interlock violation on Highland Avenue.

* On May 10, Steven Jenkins, 31, Little Hocking, was cited for no seat belt and expired MVI on West Third Street.

* On May 11, Andrea Bowman, 36, Vienna, was cited for speed 51/35 and expired registration on West Third Street.

* On May 12, officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 400 block of Henderson Avenue in which two female subjects reported being involved in a physical altercation. Parties were separated and an investigation is continuing.

* On May 12, Allison Cunix, 32, Marietta, was cited for speed 48/35 on West Third Street.

* On May 12, Ty Adkins, 22, Williamstown, was cited for speed 60/45 on W.Va. 14.

* On May 12, Mark Felter, 60, St. Marys, was cited for speed 57/45 on W.Va. 14.

* On May 13, Steven B. Boram, 51, Williamstown was arrested on a charge of DUI following traffic stop on West Third Street for a left of center violation. The patrolman noticed signs of alcohol use and after the subject allegedly failed field sobriety tests, was taken into custody for DUI. Boram reportedly later refused to take intoximeter test. Boram was placed in the Department of Corrections pending arraignment at Wood County Magistrate Court.
