Urban Renewal meets Tuesday

Applications for property purchases that were tabled by the Urban Renewal Authority of Parkersburg are on the agenda for Tuesday. The authority will meet following the City Council meeting, which convenes at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers at the municipal building. The tabled motions include separate applications from Steven M. Spiker and Jeremy Lemasters to purchase 813 Dickel Ave. Spiker has offered $500 and intends to use the lot as a side-yard extension with possibly a fence, garden and fruit trees. Historical society to hold final Anti Tea Party

The final Anti-Tea Party celebrating America’s 250th anniversary will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Phelps-Tavenner House at 2401 Camden Ave. in Parkersburg.
