Modesitt, Rexroad attend GOP convention

PARKERSBURG -- Two residents of Wood County were delegates to the mid-term Republican National Convention held Sept. 9-10 in Dallas, Texas.
Attending were Rick Modesitt, chairman of the Wood County Republican Executive Committee and
a state Republican Executive Committee member representing Senatorial District 3,
And Lewis Rexroad, a state Republican committeeman and 2nd vice chairman of the Wood County Republican Executive Committee.
"The convention has been a great remembrance of some of the many accomplishments which have been made and a great opportunity to showcase the rising talent of the Republican Party," Modesitt said. "There were moments of tears, moments of joy and moments of laughter during the first day of the conference.
"The Republican Party has a deep bench of great talent, and the diversity of the speakers demonstrates the gop is a big tent party offering young fresh ideas that put America first," he said.
Among speakers were the president, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, Florida gubernatorial candidate Rep. Byron Donalds, candidate for senate and Attorney General Ken Paxton of Texas, Rep. Brandon Gill from Texas, Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Dr. Mehmet Oz, administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Performers included singer Lee Greenwood and comedian Adam Carolla.
