1 min read

The Athens County Sheriff's Office has received $38,880 through the office of the Ohio attorney general from the Drug Abuse Response Team grant program to help communities connect survivors of opioid addiction to treatment and recovery.

The grant is among 38 totaling more than $2.5 million.

"Overdose survivors need urgent, hands-on support to break the cycle of addiction," Attorney General Andy Wilson said. "These grants empower local law enforcement and healthcare partners to meet people where they are in their most vulnerable moments and guide them toward lasting recovery."

The grant aids help communities establish or expand specialized outreach teams and funds program activities for the year ending June 30, 2027.
