PARKERSBURG — One person was hospitalized and another was taken into police custody following a shooting in the 500 block of Myrtle Street, authorities said Friday.

The shooting victim was transported to WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center for treatment, Parkersburg Police Capt. R.L. Koher said. The victim’s condition was not immediately available.

The person accused of firing the shot was taken into custody, Koher said. Police said there was no ongoing danger to the public.

Few additional details were immediately available as detectives continued to investigate. Police were expected to release more information later Friday.
