Truck rollover closes portion of US 50 outside Parkersburg
A tractor-trailer rig overturned Thursday morning around mile marker 6 in the eastbound lane of U.S. 50, not far from the Division Street exit, spilling its load of non-hazardous material and leading to a temporary closure of the main roadway. Driver Ryan Patrick Wole of Parkersburg was not injured in the incident, according to a Facebook post from the Wood County Sheriff's Office, which also said the cause of the accident remains under investigation. PARKERSBURG – A tractor-trailer rig overturned Thursday morning around mile marker 6 in the eastbound lane of U.S. 50, not far from the Division Street exit.
It spilled its load of non-hazardous material and led to a temporary closure of the main roadway.
Driver Ryan Patrick Wole of Parkersburg was not injured in the incident, according to a Facebook post from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, which also said the cause of the accident remains under investigation. It is believed speed and a shift in the trailer’s load may have contributed to the accident.
Agencies responding with the sheriff’s office included the West Virginia Division of Highways, the state Public Service Commission and the Lubeck, Washington Bottom and Blennerhassett volunteer fire departments, along with Pifer’s Towing.
