Parkersburg residents charged in Calhoun County burglaries

GRANTSVILLE – Two Parkersburg residents were charged last week following an investigation into multiple burglaries in Calhoun County, the West Virginia State Police Grantsville Detachment said.

Caleb Wayne Hart, 36, and Julie Shay Spry, 34, were identified as suspects and were arrested after a traffic stop in Wood County on Thursday when “a substantial amount of stolen property” was recovered, State Police said.

A search Friday of a residence in Parkersburg resulted in the recovery of about $100,000 in suspected stolen property, State Police said.

Hart and Spry were charged with possession of stolen property. Hart was arraigned and is being housed at North Central Regional Jail. Spry was arraigned and released on bond.

This investigation, which began in February, is ongoing and additional charges are pending, State Police said.
