1 man charged with firing 13 shots in Parkersburg dispute

PARKERSBURG – A Waverly man has been charged with more than a dozen counts of wanton endangerment after allegedly firing a gun at a man with whom he was in a dispute.

Christen Hall, 24, was in custody Friday afternoon at the Wood County Holding Facility on a $520,000 bond following his arrest Thursday evening, according to a release from Parkersburg Police Chief Matthew Board.

At approximately 5:26 p.m. Thursday, Parkersburg Police officers responded to the 900 block of Lynn Street in reference to a report of a person with a firearm, the release said. Upon arrival in less than two minutes, they determined Hall had fired multiple rounds from a pistol while outside a residence toward Kenton Barker, 28, of Parkersburg.

Following an on-scene investigation, it was determined that the incident stemmed from “a dispute related to a personal relationship involving a mutual acquaintance,” the release said.

After the scene was processed, witnesses were interviewed and evidence reviewed, Hall was charged with 13 counts of wanton endangerment – one for each round fired, the release said.

Barker was also on arrested on a charge of prohibited person in possession of a firearm, the release said. He was being held on a $50,000 bond Friday at the North Central Regional Jail in Doddridge County.

No one was struck by gunfire and no injuries to bystanders were reported, the release said.
