Parkersburg woman killed in two-vehicle collision

PARKERSBURG — The Wood County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident which occurred Wednesday evening.

In a post on its Facebook page Thursday, the Sheriff’s Office reported that about 7:35 p.m. Wednesday, the department, East Wood Volunteer Fire Department and Camden Clark Ambulance Service were dispatched to a fatal two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Murphytown Road and Robert Byrd Highway (U.S. 50).

The investigation found that Ashley Perry, 42, of Parkersburg, was driving a 2024 Lexus sedan and attempting to turn left from Murphytown Road onto westbound U.S. 50 when her vehicle was struck broadside by an eastbound 2020 Jeep Wrangler operated by Hanna Demoss, no age or address provided.

The post reported Perry sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision. Officials have confirmed that no criminal charges will be filed. No further information was available Thursday.
