BELPRE — Belpre City Council held its final regular meeting of the year Monday evening.
Council approved some measures at Monday’s meeting.
The first was the third reading of a resolution supplementing Year 2025 appropriations.
Council also approved the third reading of an ordinance authorizing the addition of regulations regarding the placement and use of portable storage and shipping containers.
Council also approved all three readings of a resolution authorizing administration officials to execute a labor agreement with local members of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.
The Finance Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 19. That meeting is dependent on new committee assignments to be made by the council president after the first of the year.
During Monday’s meeting, Council President Larry Martin said the committee assignments are expected to remain the same since only one new member, At-Large Councilman William Cassady, will be joining the returning council members.
Although there will be no committee changes, Martin urged council members to do some cross-training so that everyone has some familiarity with other areas. He hopes that will reduce loss of experience and institutional memory when large numbers of new members join council, as he has seen in the past.
