PARKERSBURG — Parkersburg City Council’s Finance Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. today in the Meeks Conference Room on the second floor of the Municipal Building to consider end-of-the-fiscal year budget revisions.
Some of the revisions address carryovers of funds for purchase orders where work began but was not completed prior to the end of the previous fiscal year on June 30 or adjustments from estimates to finalized figures.
Other revisions include $200,000 to account for a federal grant to help purchase a Bearcat S.W.A.T. vehicle for the Police Department, with most of the rest of the money expected to come from asset forfeiture funds. There’s also $300,000 proposed for the purchase of two new dump trucks.
The resolution proposes $701,584 from the general fund balance to be allocated to the streets fund as well.
If approved by the Finance Committee today, the resolution would appear on the agenda for the Oct. 28 City Council meeting.
