Tennessee man facing drug charges after raid at Parkersburg hotel

PARKERSBURG — A Tennessee man was arrested Thursday after authorities seized large quantities of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl during a drug raid at a Parkersburg hotel.
The Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at Room 249 of a hotel located at 3714 East Seventh St. following a drug investigation and traffic stop earlier that day.
During the stop, agents allegedly found approximately 8 grams of suspected crack cocaine on Elliott Antonio Banks, 46, of Nashville, Tenn.
A subsequent search of the hotel room uncovered approximately 2 pounds of suspected methamphetamine and around 79 grams of suspected fentanyl, according to the task force.
Banks was taken into custody and charged with three counts of possession with intent to deliver: methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and fentanyl. He is currently awaiting arraignment in Wood County Magistrate Court.
The Parkersburg Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force includes investigators from the Parkersburg Police Department, Wood County Sheriff’s Department, Vienna Police Department, Williamstown Police Department and the West Virginia State Police.
