PARKERSBURG — A Parkersburg woman was recently sentenced to 15 years in prison for her role in an overdose death.
Ashley Louise Haynes, 28, was sentenced by Wood County Circuit Court Judge J.D. Beane on July 18 to 15 years in prison with credit for 497 days served after previously pleading guilty to a charge of drug delivery resulting in death, according to court records.
Parkersburg Police responded in June 2023 to a deceased 27-year-old woman at an address on 23rd Street, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page. An autopsy conducted by the West Virginia State Medical Examiner’s Office determined she died as a result of an overdose of controlled substances, including fentanyl. Haynes was subsequently arrested as a result of the investigation, the post said.
